This gold encrusted, ornate cathedral was the first in America and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Located in the Old City of Quebec, it is gorgeous inside but very unassuming on the outside. Smaller than many European cathedrals, but still grand and awe inspiring. Must see while walking around the old quarters.

We took the funicular up and walked back down to our hotel in the newer part of the city. It was beautiful, very European, nice views, lovely places to have lunch á plein air and shop.

The Martello Tower has plenty of historic significance and is a great reminder of Quebec City's French and English past. This one in particular has since been turned into a museum.

By far, my favorite and most memorable part of the trip to Quebec City. Quartier Petit Champlain is an area of Old Quebec, namely, the oldest commercial district in North America. Today, all of its historical facades are preserved with brand new stores and restaurants on the sides of the street. Walking down the narrow street of la rue du ...

Nice garden on the Plains of Abraham, but small. Visit around Halloween for a special exhibition about some of Quebec's legends.

The Capital Observatory is located on the top floors of Marie-Guyart Building, the observation floor is the highest point of Quebec City at 221 meters tall offering a complete panoramic view of the entire Quebec City. The Capital Observatory floor is quite large and not crowded even though it's a popular tourist spot, there are information about each landmark on ...

What an incredible and unique sight. Near the Place Royale, the Québecois Fresco is the first of a series of wall arts completed in Quebec City as a reminder of the past. The site is located at the ruins of several houses which was first burnt down in the 15th century, rebuilt, bombed and demolished a few times more in ...

Who doesn't love fishes and octopus floating in the window? The Boutique Métiers D'Art in the Old Quebec district specializes in displaying glass crafts. This is one of the three crafts shops sponsored by CMAQ in promoting and supporting local artisans. The glass shop is rather unique with a full glass blowing studio complete with furnace. Unique, artistic and impressive. This stunning glass art shop is located in the Quartier Petit Champlain. The store front is almost impossible to miss as it is rather eyecatching with its mesmerizing colors and incredible display of glass arts (i.e. glass sculpture of a cat and mouse) in the window display. The store is not big, but the display of ...
