Decent burritos. They give you chips and salsa which is nice. They are corn tortilla chips and they taste like Fritos. The burritos are large. Chorizo is pretty good.

Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center (The)

This extravaganza of traditional food, music and dance is a must for your first or second evening in Chiang Mai. During the "Khantoke" dinner and show, you'll sit on the floor at low tables with 12-20 other diners. Although the space holds at least 500 guests for each nightly event, you'll never feel cramped. Enjoy an abundant sampling of many ...

    Kafe Bar and Restaurant

Cool little bar along the river with decent food and drinks. It's a little pricier than I like to pay (120-150B for a cocktail) but its not outrageous for CM.

    John's Place

    3.5
    2 reviews

With its prime spot overlooking the eastern moat of the old city, decent food, good happy-hour drink specials and a convivial atmosphere, John's is one of the major gathering spots in central Chiang Mai, and with good reason. The menu is pretty broad and takes a stab at nearly everything, but the Thai specialties are reliably good.

    Whole Earth Restaurant

This is known for having a nice vegetarian menu but you can find meat and fish as well. The grounds are very nice with an outdoor area lit with lanterns and indoor dining room. Service was great, food was great. I ended up eating there twice while in Chiang Mai. There is a mix of Indian and thai foods as ...

Butter is Better Bakery & Restaurant

Butter is Better is a delicious diner with retro American decor and full-fat desserts. My chocolate chip cookie left a grease stain on the wrapper... and it was so good... I went here many times over the course of two months and tried a lot of things, but the egg salad sandwich was by far my favorite.

Great restaurant cafe located right in the center of the old town. A lot of options for food, American, Thai and other - both vegetarian and not. Also serves great coffee and has really friendly and attentive staff. It was recommended to me on a bus ride to CM and I have eaten there every day I've been in CM ...

    Khao Soi Lam Duan

    1 review

Located north of the riverside in the Khao Soi ghetto, this eatery is one of the oldest in the city serving Khao Soi, the noodle dish in coconut water with chili, that gives the restaurant it's name. A truly amazing, authentic Thai food experience. Order the chicken soup, the satay sticks, the fried spring rolls, and if you can eat ...

Salsa Kitchen is a tasty upscale Tex-Mex place near Kad Suan Kaew mall. I really enjoyed my chimichangas. The 'sour cream', though, was too sweet.
