I don't really know much about Chicago, in that I've only been there twice. But the two times I was there, I couldn't help but notice that certain parts of the city were very interesting, while others not so much. I'm looking forward to an extended visit this year were I will be in a better position to make a more informed opinion and impression of my experiences.Recommended for:

I expected Chicago to be a fine city. It turned out to be an amazing city. It's clean and beautiful, with great architecture, food, music, and waterfront activities. Plan your trip during warmer months when you can spend lots of time outside.Recommended for:

What a beautiful city with incredible architecture and food on every corner. The city is so clean and diverse. In the spring they host some of the largest outdoor music festivals in the nation and is home to one of the most beautiful parks in the country.Recommended for:

I love Chicago!!! Such a great city! Getting there is rough, if you drive because of the horrible roads and tolls, but once you get there, it's fabulous. So much to do and great places to eat.Recommended for:

Chicago is an amazing city with tons of culture and history. The museums are all huge, with special exhibits that can't be seen elsewhere. The architecture dates back to the 1800s and is quite impressive. The only downside to the city is the extreme weather.

Beautiful city right along Lake Michigan. Get a mix of the city life and water life. City is gorgeous with many places to see and things to do. The Magnificent Mile is a mile long shopping avenue that offers all kinds of stores and restaurants. The Pier offers stunning views of the lake and chicago skyline. Love this city and come back almost every year.Recommended for:

Often overlooked by tourists, Chicago is one of the more attractive cities in the US and has a vibrant culinary scene. Best known of its gangsters and crime, Chicago is a charmer with fantastic architecture and friendly people. Just avoid the winter. Prices drop significantly at hotels but the winter here is brutal.Recommended for:

Even though Chicago is one of the largest cities in the US, every time I visit I feel like I've discovered a hidden gem. It has all the big city glam without the pretentiousness of New York of LA, and its residents are some of the most down-to-earth, friendly souls you'll ever encounter. Chicago also has the added benefit of being only a 2-3 hr. flight from almost anywhere in the country. But if you don't want to fly all the way to an ocean, just take advantage of Chicago's gorgeous Lake Michigan shoreline!Recommended for:

Sweet home Chicago, it's still my kind of town after all these years. Cruising down Lake Shore Drive in summer, wandering past the masterpieces of the Art Institute downtown, hearing live jazz at the Green Mill and blues masters at Buddy Guy's, standing in line for a gourmet dog at Hot Doug's, ordering deep-dish pizza from Giordano's delivered to your door...these are the things I miss when I'm away.Recommended for:

As the 3rd-largest city in the US, the lakeside city of Chicago is the real deal: a true metropolis with great dining, serious culture, and fantastic architecture and museums. What makes it special in my mind, however, is the people - approachable and midwestern friendly in a way not found on the coasts. It's brutally cold in the winter and hot and sticky in the summer, but the fantastic food, sights, and people make it a thoroughly enjoyable destination at any time of year.Recommended for:

Chicago is the largest city in the midwest and the third largest city in the United States behind Los Angeles and New York. Beyond the nightlife and excellent food scene (check out Chicago's pizzas), the gothic architecture is impressive and a sight to see.Recommended for:

Chicago has bloomed as a vacation destination over the past 20 years. It's got a beautiful lakefront, world-class museums, and a thriving theater scene. There so much to do, and so many neighborhoods to explore. You can go to a ball game, or the zoo, or just walk along the lake or window shop on Michigan Ave. There's a thriving art scene and a huge variety of restaurants to choose from. I love visiting Chicago.Recommended for:

I've just arrived and if Chicago's O'Hare International Airport is any indication of what the city is like I'm very impressed. I'm just stopping over here this time but I'll have to come back and have a more in depth visit in the future.

I have lived in this city my entire life and the possibility are endless. Great for a night on the town. Almost infinite number of bars and attractions. A lot of culture and history. Great for everyone.Recommended for:
