Besides New York, I think this is one of the more Cosmopolitan cities in the US. Loved the architecture of downtown which they are famous for definitely.

Often overlooked by tourists, Chicago is one of the more attractive cities in the US and has a vibrant culinary scene. Best known of its gangsters and crime, Chicago is a charmer with fantastic architecture and friendly people. Just avoid the winter. Prices drop significantly at hotels but the winter here is brutal.

Chicago was a complete surprise to me. The cleanliness of the city was welcome and appreciated. The shopping was amazing and the best reason to go? The food.

Even though Chicago is one of the largest cities in the US, every time I visit I feel like I've discovered a hidden gem. It has all the big city glam without the pretentiousness of New York of LA, and its residents are some of the most down-to-earth, friendly souls you'll ever encounter. Chicago also has the added benefit of being only a 2-3 hr. flight from almost anywhere in the country. But if you don't want to fly all the way to an ocean, just take advantage of Chicago's gorgeous Lake Michigan shoreline!

Sweet home Chicago, it's still my kind of town after all these years. Cruising down Lake Shore Drive in summer, wandering past the masterpieces of the Art Institute downtown, hearing live jazz at the Green Mill and blues masters at Buddy Guy's, standing in line for a gourmet dog at Hot Doug's, ordering deep-dish pizza from Giordano's delivered to your door...these are the things I miss when I'm away.

As the 3rd-largest city in the US, the lakeside city of Chicago is the real deal: a true metropolis with great dining, serious culture, and fantastic architecture and museums. What makes it special in my mind, however, is the people - approachable and midwestern friendly in a way not found on the coasts. It's brutally cold in the winter and hot and sticky in the summer, but the fantastic food, sights, and people make it a thoroughly enjoyable destination at any time of year.

Chicago is the largest city in the midwest and the third largest city in the United States behind Los Angeles and New York. Beyond the nightlife and excellent food scene (check out Chicago's pizzas), the gothic architecture is impressive and a sight to see.

Chicago has bloomed as a vacation destination over the past 20 years. It's got a beautiful lakefront, world-class museums, and a thriving theater scene. There so much to do, and so many neighborhoods to explore. You can go to a ball game, or the zoo, or just walk along the lake or window shop on Michigan Ave. There's a thriving art scene and a huge variety of restaurants to choose from. I love visiting Chicago.

Great weekend trip to Chi Town. We rode on Segways, ate at great restaurants, took the double decker bus tour of city, architectural river cruise (awesome)...great time and a city for all ages
