We like the location of this hotel if we are going to shows. In the heart of the Chicago Loop area, it is close to theaters, shops, restaurants and the "L" train.

Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago

    Class:

Excellent! - 94% of guests recommend

In Chicago, I learnt why Trump is so well respected. He truly understands the essence of "Location, Location, Location." Visitors can view his magnificent hotel and tower from all over the city. I did not go into the hotel, but I understand it's at least $12/ per drink in the hotel's bar on the 10th floor. The bar itself has ...

If it was possible to give this hotel another 5 Stars I would!! I should tell you that I am in the Travel Industry and have been to many amazing properties. Class:

Coming south along Lakeshore or the bike path takes you directly toward their brilliant red sign spelling out "Drake" in their distinctive script. At Ohio Street Beach, the Drive and the path veers to the east to go around this historical hotel. Ask for a room facing north. Since the hotel is at the top of Michigan Avenue, you're close ...

Absolutely my fav hotel in the city, I'm so sad it was bought out and turned from a boutique to a chain (albeit a really nice chain). Ria is reconcepting (best seafood by far in the landlocked Midwest) and currently closed, but was phenomenal. More hotels should adopt the no trip policy, it really puts the emphasis on hospitality.

The James Chicago - Magnificent Mile

    Class:

Excellent! - 90% of guests recommend

The James serves up modern luxury with all the amenities. Rooms are spacious (by downtown hotel standards), with city views and complimentary WiFi. The hotel is also home to David Burke's Primehouse, named the city's best steakhouse by Chicago Magazine. For smaller bites, head to the newly opened Burke's Bacon Bar, which serves up pork-centric sandwiches. For late night sips, ...

The location is excellent. Water taxi nearby, magnificent mile just a few steps away. Keefer's restaurant just a few minutes away. Nothing to complain about the hotel - just a normal business hotel. Wifi availability was not good around the hotel conference areas. The conference areas were a maze with some places quite far apart.

The sunny outdoor terrace is my favorite place in this hotel during Chicago's short summer but I also love the dark wood and modern furniture reading room lobby. It feels like Europeans run this hip luxury hotel and that is commendable to me.

Unfortunately, this property doesn't have that wonderful Kimpton feel about it. Though the public-space decor and atmosphere are warm & cozy, the staff certainly isn't (the valet staff is the only exception). Something about the room decor didn't feel right. Chicago has a lot of hotel choices with reasonable prices. We prefer boutique hotels and Chicago has a lot of them as well. We picked Affinia because of its location near the lakeshore where we wanted to go for morning runs and the price was unbeatable. Chicago Hotel Insider
Each year, about 30 million visitors head to Chicago to explore the Midwest’s most vibrant, bustling metropolis, ready to explore its urban parks, world-class museums, great spectator sports, cutting edge theater, and, of course, stunning Lake Michigan. An added perk is the diversity of the city’s neighborhoods, where you can explore everything from stately Victorian mansions to revitalized warehouses that now host some of the city’s coolest restaurants and nightclubs. It’s no surprise that Chicago was rated one of the top destinations in the U.S. by Gogobot users.

Luxury Hotels in Chicago
Many major hotels are concentrated in the Loop, close to Chi-Town’s most popular attractions including Millennium Park, the Navy Pier, the Willis Center, and the Magnificent Mile. The Drake Hotel Chicago, located on the Magnificent Mile, has long played host to visiting royalty and other celebrities. Another iconic Windy City hotel is the Palmer House, situated in the Loop and dating back to the 1870s. Another notable establishment is the Congress Plaza Hotel on Michigan Ave., known for its historic past and stunning architecture. There’s also the much lauded ACME Hotel Company with its minimalist furnishings, wacky artwork, and attentive staff. Or try the James Hotel Chicago for a little bit of pet-friendly flair. Most of the city’s notable hotels offer excellent amenities, ranging from fitness rooms, free continental breakfast, and indoor pools to indulgent spas that pamper guests with a huge menu of treatments. Chicago is a foodie’s dream, with culinary offerings that go well beyond the iconic deep dish pizza. Many of the city’s hotels also boast excellent restaurants, like the trendy NoMI Kitchen at the Park Hyatt or the iconic Palm Court at the Drake, where the afternoon tea is rumored to rival the British.

Hotels by Neighborhood
Regardless of the time of year of your visit, there’s plenty to see and do in Chicago. The city’s lovely Millennium Park is one of the newer attractions, situated in the Loop area of the city. It opened in 2004 and includes pavilions and amphitheaters for concerts, and is close to many hotels, including the Westin Michigan Avenue and Hilton Chicago. The Shedd Aquarium is a perfect place to bring the kiddos, and the Art Institute of Chicago is packed with iconic paintings. If it’s a great view you are after, try the W Hotel Chicago, which overlooks Lake Michigan and is only steps away from Navy Pier. Another lodging with views of the lake is the Essex Inn Chicago, located within easy walking distance of many of the city’s best attractions.
