We like the location of this hotel if we are going to shows. In the heart of the Chicago Loop area, it is close to theaters, shops, restaurants and the "L" train.

The last time I was here, I saw Derrick Rose (Bulls) stroll through the lobby and not a soul stopped to ask for a picture (though I'm sure we all wanted to) because it's just not that kind of place. With floor to ceiling windows, free wi-fi, and excellent cocktail lounge and some of the best views in the city- ...

Three Words: Peninsula Tea Set. Whether staying at the hotel, do stop by for tea which should be a destination in itself. Very conveniently located near the Magnificent Mile, The Pen Chicago offers a lush refuge from the hustle outside. Rooms are beautifully appointed and service holds up to the Peninsula standards.

The Drake is fancy living in a way that I thought only existed in movies until I went to the Drake. They got high ceilings, chandeliers, ornate carpeting. Soft inoffensive piano music, played live, follows you as you make your way around the lobby. It’s easy to get lost in this place. It’s hard to believe that they’re as pet ...

Because it’s a Doubletree, you get the chocolate chip cookie and you can use your rewards points. But because it’s their new boutique brand, you also get a glitz-chic interior and a hip rooftop bar (named ROOF) that lots of non-guests are willing to spend a lot of time waiting in line to visit. Decide for yourself whether that’s a ...

I stayed at the Elysian on a business trip recently and it was superb. A treat for business travelers, elegant, functional, and super comfortable. However, it is massive and somewhat commercial. Service was dynamic and efficient. The area is good, just a few mins walk to 'Magnificent Mile' and 'Millennium Park. Do explore: visit the 'Art Institute of Chicago’; it has a great Impressionism and post-impressionism collection.

You have to love a hotel that looks like a champagne bottle just ready to be pops for celebration. The beautiful carbide and carbon building is located on Michigan Avenue and just as cool as you would expect. Exceptional service and electric guitars lining the walls makes a pool table in the lobby look totally appropriate.

My mom and sister stayed at this hotel when they came to visit last summer and they were really happy with their room.
