    Hotel Felix

    Hotel Felix

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    7 reviews

Conveniently located in downtown Chicago, Hotel Felix is Chicago's first eco-friendly boutique hotel. The decor is modern and quite luxurious, with generous space even in the single rooms (think king bed). Free wifi all throughout, complimentary morning coffee and accomodating staff. The outdoor art is truly quirky and unique, each sculpture being made from reclaimed, sustainable materials. Highly recommend it!

    The Silversmith Hotel & Suites

    The Silversmith Hotel & Suites

    Hotel Class:
    5
    4 reviews

This hotel is charming. The building is a historic landmark (I believe it was built in 1897) that overlooks the elevated train on Jeweler's Row. I loved the lobby's decor, but one of the employees told me that they're likely going to be redesigning it soon. They're opening a restaurant on the first floor in the next month or so, ...

    Four Seasons Hotel Chicago

    Four Seasons Hotel Chicago

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    9 reviews

This is a really fun hotel. They have staff members called “Bedtime Butlers” who will read the kids stories at night. They are really friendly, and know how to make it fun for them. There was also an ice cream man that comes up to bring the dessert and kid sized robes. The pool is huge, its probably 50' long ...

    Chicago Marriott at Medical District/UIC

    Chicago Marriott at Medical District/UIC

    Hotel Class:
    4
    2 reviews

I loved looking out at the newly blossomed trees from the bright, sunny windows of my fourth floor room at the Marriott. Maroon and gold accents warmed the space, although it felt surprisingly open thanks to a large, round mirror that made it look much more spacious. Everyone at the hotel was really friendly and made me feel instantly welcome. ...

    The Talbott Hotel

    The Talbott Hotel

    5
    5 reviews

The Talbott Hotel is the kind of place your grandfather would love, as long as your grandfather is the sailboat & stock option type. I mean no disrespect--this is just the kind of conversation I overheard while waiting to talk to the front desk staff. The lobby (big leather couches, dark wood, huge fireplace) fits the type, too. It's lovely, ...

    Waldorf Astoria Chicago

    Waldorf Astoria Chicago

    Hotel Class:
    4.5

I stayed at the Elysian on a business trip recently and it was superb. The rooms were large, spacious and beautifully equipped for every business purpose in the book -- and best of all, they allowed me to relax for my meetings. The service, as can be expected at top-notch hotels, was outstanding, and I got used to being called ...

    Hotel Palomar Chicago

    Hotel Palomar Chicago

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    9 reviews

This relatively new boutique Klimpton hotel seems like it’s still developing its identity. With what seemed to be half business travelers and half vacationers, the interior was all clean and quirky chic. As one example, there was a large hunting dog pillow perched against the lobby banquette, as various game bird silhouettes “flew” overhead in black and white framed photos. ...

Embassy Suites Hotel Chicago Downtown Lakefront

    Hotel Class:
    4
    7 reviews

Came here on a business trip in December! Brrrr.... but this hotel is perfectly located... close enough to walk to the shopping and dining on Michigan Ave, a nice restaurant inside the hotel, easy to find taxicabs to get anywhere! Like all Embassy Suites, a huge atrium, nice, comfortable rooms with a kitchenette and a living room, very friendly check-in ...

    Comfort Suites

    Comfort Suites

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    5 reviews

There's nothing glamorous about Comfort Suites, which is somewhat surprising with its Michigan Ave address and its proximity to the river, but I'd definitely recommend it for someone who's planning to spend a few days doing the tourist thing downtown. The suites are spacious, though the layouts are somewhat odd (in one room, the view from the bed is of ...

Hotel Indigo Chicago Downtown Gold Coast

Hotel Indigo Chicago Downtown Gold Coast

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    6 reviews

Hotel Indigo's decor is a little kitschy for my taste, but I really liked the space despite it. The rooms are so welcoming; it's the kind of place you'd want to stay at if you planned to spend some time in the room hanging out, reading, relaxing. It's also a really great location. Gold Coast is a beautiful neighborhood, and ...

    Carlton Inn Midway

    Carlton Inn Midway

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    3 reviews

If you're looking to stay in the Midway area, this is the place to do it. I was a bit apprehensive upon seeing a few semis in the parking lot, thinking it might be more of a truck stop than a nice motel, but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the capacious and nicely decorated double room. Each ...

Best Western River North Chicago Downtown Hotel

Best Western River North Chicago Downtown Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    2 reviews

By simply looking at this hotel, it doesn't appear to have anything really special about it, but considering everything that's included, I'd definitely say it's one of the best offers in the city. First of all, you're right in the heart of River North, the city's foodie heaven and nightlife hot spot. It's not as posh as some of the ...

Ramada Inn Lake Shore - Chicago

Ramada Inn Lake Shore - Chicago

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    2 reviews

The Ramada is ideal for staying in Hyde Park if you are going there for a conference or visiting someone at the University of Chicago. Hyde Park is weirdly disconnected from the rest of Chicago. It is isolated from Public Transit, so it becomes much harder to get around without a car. For example, Lake Michigan is right across the ...

    Hyatt Regency Chicago

    Hyatt Regency Chicago

    Hotel Class:

    16 reviews

The location is excellent. Water taxi nearby, magnificent mile just a few steps away. Keefer's restaurant just a few minutes away. Nothing to complain about the hotel - just a normal business hotel. Wifi availability was not good around the hotel conference areas. The conference areas were a maze with some places quite far apart.

    Kinzie Hotel

    Kinzie Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    6 reviews

The Amalfi Hotel is located on a tourist-friendly stretch of Kinzie that puts visitors within strolling distance of places such as Haray Caray’s, Morton’s, and a variety of Hubbard Avenue spots. However, if you’re looking something with a bit more local flair, walk on over to the famous Billy Goat tavern, or grab a drink at the delightfully scummy Rossi’s. ...

The Ritz-Carlton Chicago (A Four Seasons Hotel)

This used to be one of the top properties in Chicago but it has been eclipsed by new entrants and needs updating. That said, it is still a good property in an excellent location and is good value for money at its current rate structure. The pluses: - Fantastic location - Reliable Ritz / Four Seasons amenities and service levels ...

    The Westin Chicago River North

    The Westin Chicago River North

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    2 reviews

This is a big, sleek hotel located adjacent to the river in the heart of the city (or near enough). The entry is wedged between two skyscrapers, so it’s not the easiest to spot from the street, but it’s big enough to where it won’t be a treasure hunt. Inside, the hotel comes off as pretty fancy, albeit a bit ...

What a groovy place this is in a great location to boot. I am a big fan of the Sofitel brand and this place does not disappoint. The rooms are bright and airy. The concierge was incredibly helpful. Great restaurant and bar with a great Foursquare special. Walking distance from many great restaurants. Enjoy yourself, you are in Chicago for ...

Holiday Inn Chicago - Mart Plaza

    Hotel Class:

I was a little bit confused about how to get to this hotel from the outside since you have to walk down alongside the river quite a ways, but it's a lovely, scenic walk past the Merchandise Mart Hall of Fame and the Chicago River. I've always loved the bridges that connect the city over the river so I didn't ...
