    Hostelling International USA

    Hostelling International USA

    Class:
    7 reviews
Excellent! - 86% of guests recommend

Walking into HI is like walking into the common area of a college dorm. On one side is a small cafe, on the other is the reception area and a large common area with several different seating areas, some couches, some high top tables and stools. It's very welcoming, despite the somewhat impatient staff. This hostel has all the amenities ...

Hotel Lincoln, a Joie de Vivre Hotel

    Class:
    7 reviews

The rooms at Hotel Lincoln are small, but I think that's a tiny, tiny problem considering all it's got going. It's in a great location, just steps away from the zoo and the lake, and it has incredible views. The decor is warm and eye catching, with lots of interesting details (I love the drawer pulls on the check-in desk). ...

    MileNorth

    MileNorth

    Class:
    9 reviews

MileNorth is one of my favorite Chicago hotels. Walking into the lobby makes me want to order a coffee or a beer and just hang out. The decor--dark wood, antiques, almost steampunk touches--is great, and the staff is super friendly. Danny, especially, made me feel welcome. I noticed while I was at the desk that the staff knew every guest ...

    Omni Chicago Hotel

    Class:

Excellent! - 85% of guests recommend

My mom and sister stayed at this hotel when they came to visit last summer and they were really happy with their room. One of my favorite features is the separation between the living area and the sleeping area, each with an entrance to the bathroom. The arm chairs are really comfortable, and there's a tiny kitchenette with coffee maker ...

SpringHill Suites Chicago Downtown / River North

Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

The suites here are very nice--by far my favorite decor of the suites I've seen. I love the teal sectional with chaise and pull-out couch, and the workspace/room divider is visually interesting, really unique. I can't figure out why two hotels share the same space (You get off the elevator and are facing two check-in desks that share one snack ...

    Comfort Suites

    Class:

Good! - 76% of guests recommend

There's nothing glamorous about Comfort Suites, which is somewhat surprising with its Michigan Ave address and its proximity to the river, but I'd definitely recommend it for someone who's planning to spend a few days doing the tourist thing downtown. The suites are spacious, though the layouts are somewhat odd (in one room, the view from the bed is of ...

    Class:

Very Good! - 82% of guests recommend

I was pleasantly surprised by the Carlton Inn, with its dark green and red color scheme, fenced off patio, and fitness room. The guestrooms are fairly simple, standard, and clean. I thought the soap and lotion dispenser in the bathroom was odd, but I'm sure it's more environmentally friendly than the usual single use bottles. The motel offers both free ...

Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago

    Class:

Excellent! - 94% of guests recommend

The last time I was here, I saw Derrick Rose (Bulls) stroll through the lobby and not a soul stopped to ask for a picture (though I'm sure we all wanted to) because it's just not that kind of place. With floor to ceiling windows, free wi-fi, and excellent cocktail lounge and some of the best views in the city- ...

The skyscraper that this hotel is located in is probably the most impressive architecture in downtown Chicago. The hotel is also located smack on the edge of Wacker Ave. Its close proximity to the Chicago river is a bonus cause you really get to experience unique views of Chicago's skyline. On our next visit- we will definitely be staying here!!!

Excellent! - 93% of guests recommend

I dig the Talbott Hotel AND the cow statue walking up the building's exterior. Not nearly as pricey as some of the other hotels in Chicago, the Talbott delivers on location and service. The rooms are large, the location rocks and the service is all that it should be.

I love this hotel. It doesn't seem that they do enough as far as awareness because I never hear of anyone staying here when visiting Chicago. The fact that it's not overly crowded is one of my favorite things about it though. The decor in the hotel is what sets this one apart. Expect exceptional service from top to bottom.

This is such a beautiful, historic building. Some of the original details have been preserved--the floors in the elevators were my favorite, I think. The Essex Inn is a gem! I've seen their bright red sign from Grant Park hundreds of times, but never thought to look inside. I'm so glad I did. On Michigan Avenue, it's easy to overlook this smaller hotel for some more recognizable names. But it's a better value and the interior is nearly as nice as its neighbors. Like ...
