I've never stayed here, but stopping by to see the beautiful lobby is worth it. It's also the home of the first brownie. They have afternoon tea which I've been meaning to try. The hotel itself is pretty historical.

The restaurant "Sixteen" is a can't-miss. The food is amazing, the service is first class, and the views of Chicago from the sixteenth story are spectacular. If you are feeling adventurous, try the blind chef's tasting, you won't be disappointed.

Such a beautiful, elegant place have Sunday brunch or Afternoon Tea. I love having excuses like this to dress up in my Sunday best and spend a slowly paced afternoon with loved ones. I also love how much sunlight their large windows bring in. Really sets the tone of this place.

Drake is such an institution! I had been wanting to stay there ever since I find out about it. I finally got a deal and stayed there. I was a bit disappointing I have to say. The lobbies are gorgeous and the shops are glamorous. However, the myth buster moment came when I opened the door to my room. It ...

The James Hotel is super well located, a few steps away from the Magnificent Mile and subway stations. I was lucky to be upgraded to a suite and I paid a super good price for my room. My room was well appointed and I loved the books on Chicago that you can find in the room. Close to fabulous shopping, ...

Great property all around. I'd add this to the Trump as my other favorite hotel in Chicago. Exceptional design, comfortable rooms, and excellent F&B. What really stood out for me is the service level. The staff are warm and attentive and it feels like they really care about guests in a very unpretentious and genuine way. This is a true ...

I'm a total geek when it comes to music memorabilia, so I always love the Hard Rock hotels. Each floor is themed around a musical group; we stayed on "Chicago," which was fitting. Wish there was a pool, but it was a chic, comfy stay near a Lake Michigan beach and everything else we wanted to see.

The sunny outdoor terrace is my favorite place in this hotel during Chicago's short summer but I also love the dark wood and modern furniture reading room lobby. It feels like Europeans run this hip luxury hotel and that is commendable to me.

Unfortunately, this property doesn't have that wonderful Kimpton feel about it. Though the public-space decor and atmosphere are warm & cozy, the staff certainly isn't (the valet staff is the only exception). Something about the room decor didn't feel right. My room was on the 8th floor. I swear, all I heard were sirens racing through the streets below. The ...

When you get to the very tippy top of what one can possibly pay to stay one night in a hotel, it’s the details that distinguish the 5-star properties from one another. The hoteliers behind the Elysian, which opened less than two years ago, clearly had kept that in mind. Though the building is brand new, it feels like the ...

During its 85 years, the Knickerbocker has been known by other names, including the Hugh Hefner-owned Playboy Hotel and Towers during the 70s. Nowadays, all traces of its Playboy past have been erased, leaving behind an upscale, if somewhat vanilla, luxury hotel. The location can't be beat—it's just steps to the shopping of Michigan Ave, tourist attractions like the Hancock ...
