    Lao Sze Chuan

    5 reviews

A reliable stand-out in Chicago's Chinatown, this Szechuan restaurants makes their dishes authentically spicy. It's one of the best places to go if you can't speak or read Chinese, as they're used to out-of-towners and foodies from other 'hoods.

    Rock N Roll McDonald's

    10 reviews

We enjoy visiting McDonald's whenever we travel since they vary from place to place. The food here is typical of McDonald's throughout the U.S. What's different here is the rock memorabilia (a la Hard Rock Cafe). It's conveniently located in the lively River North area. You should go here at least once.

Delicious Japanese and Mexican fare can be found at this bustling hotspot. The ahi tuna burger, giant plate of pulled chicken nachos, ahi poke, filet mignon tacos and carrot cake are what they're known for. The space is huge but it gets packed so make reservations. Lots of yummy eye candy here too.

    Pierrot Gourmet

    2 reviews

Stopped in for a quick lunch, not disappointed at all. The smoked salmon sandwich was delicious, as was the moscow mule. Of course we had to have a macaroon or two afterwards. A little pricey for a cafe, but not disappointed at all. And with the cafe being affiliated with The Peninsula Hotel, of course you are except exceptional service.

    Berghoff Restaurant

    6 reviews

Old time diner type restaurant with generous portions. Not as good as we remember but the food is of decent quality and with generous portions. This is a good place for German food, although there are lots of other choices on the large menu. I like their homemade root beer.

You absolutely must try a Chicago-style hot dog while in the Windy City, and Portillo's is one of the oldest and the best. What started as a single hot dog stand in 1963 is now a chain of more than 40 restaurants. Pair your hot dog with cheese fries for a full meal.

My kids and I were visiting Chicago, and I was desperately looking for a place to get a good cup up coffee and recharge my phone. After seeing a sea of Starbucks, it was refreshing to find Dollop. The woman who served us was remarkably friendly and answered several touristy questions while she got my coffee and muffins for my ...

In a city full of tapas and small plates restaurants, this one stands out, and is even favored by a number of celebrity chefs themselves. Adventurous eaters should try the pig ears, bone marrow, and foie gras with membrillo.

Amazing artisan encased meats and every order taken personally by Doug himself. There's usually a long line, but it's worth it. The duck fat fries are amazing.

    Rockit Bar & Grill

Between Liked and A-Ok. After our detour away from the piano bar a couple doors away, we walked in here to grab a night cap. Nice decor, but drinks are on your restaurant pricey side at about $10+ per drink depending on what you get. Decently tasting, but not too strong. That was ok though only because we had a ...
