    Wishbone

This is my favorite brunch spot in Chicago. A good mix of Southern-influenced options. The menu is massive so there is something for everyone. I could eat the corn cakes here all day. Expect to wait if you arrive after 10:30 or 11 on a weekend. Good news is that the tables turn pretty quickly. The coffee here is TERRIBLE ...

    Gilt Bar

    12 reviews

So delicious! Bone marrow was huge and very rich. The pastas are so fresh! The gnocchi was light and satisfying, fluffy like pillows! For dessert, we got the apple brown butter cake with salted caramel vanilla ice cream. This dessert is fit for royalty. It's pretty big so I'd advise sharing. Overall, trendy ambience backed by quality food and drinks.

    Carnivale

    7 reviews

Carnivale has a great atmosphere for dinner and drinks with friends. Good food and service improve the experience. It never would have survived this long if it wasn't good. Make a reservation and open up the wallet $$$. Worth at least 1 big visit.

    Lula Cafe

    10 reviews

A landmark neighborhood cafe that has been a Logan Square mainstay. The brunch is worth the long wait, but pretty much Amy time of day is worth coming for their local and comfortable cooking.

    Kuma's Corner

There are three things you'll notice when you walk into Kuma's for the first time. 1) The loud heavy metal music. 2) The pierced, tattooed crowd. 3) The long wait. Do not be deterred. The burgers: huge, juicy, covered in unique and flavorful toppings. They're heavy metal themed, with names like Megadeath and Slayer, and finishing one will make you ...

    Quartino

    13 reviews

Once, I went on a first date with a truly awful guy here, but it was okay because the house wine was $7 a bottle. I love to order the antipasti platter and munch on salami and prosciutto and olives all afternoon.

    Molly's Cupcakes

Great variety of cupcakes every time. The cupcakes are moist and not overwhelmingly sweet. A wonderful place to hangout with multiple seating areas and games to play. The sprinkles bar is a big plus.

    Next Restaurant

    5 reviews

I've been lucky enough to have dined at Next for every menu they've had since literally day one. For travel addicts in search of novelty and all things delicious, there cannot be a better restaurant in the city of Chicago to go to. This restaurant is the second project of Chef Grant Achatz (of Alinea fame), and it changes its ...

    RM Champagne Salon

    4 reviews

What a beautiful hidden gem! The place is unmarked so look for the address outside and a doorman - the entrance is in the back. The place reminds me of a place you'd find in Europe. There's a great outdoor courtyard with tables and the inside is sexy and dimly lit. Perfect for a date or a girly night out. ...

    Southern

Great brunch spot in Wicker Park. The brisket hash tastes like love in a bowl. Super colorful and hearty dish. I loved that the indoors opened to a patio. Great for weekend brunch on a summer day!

    Gino's East of Chicago

    26 reviews

My favorite deep dish pizza. Everyone has their own preference but I feel this place gives you a more down home feel than the competing chain spots in town. This restaurant location has a lot of history and character going on inside. Be prepared to wait a while for pizza to come out. Grab a drink and an app while ...

This is my absolute favorite pizza in Chicago. The crust is to die for! It also happens to be a Blackhawks bar so look for game day deals!

    Twin Anchors Restaurant & Tavern

    8 reviews

Terrific local BBQ! If you are ordering the ribs, be sure to order the extra zesty sauce. It is a famous restaurant and rumored to have Frank Sinatra order or go there for a meal when he was in Chicago.

    Garrett Popcorn

    4 reviews

I sought out Garrett's in the Chicago O'Hare Airport based on an enthusiastic recommendation from native Chicagoan, fellow travel writer and dear friend Jill. When I told Jill I had a stopover in Chicago she immediately shouted out "Garrett's Popcorn!" I was instructed to try their famous Chicago mix with cheddar cheese and carmel corn and I was nt disappointed! ...
