Spend an afternoon checking out all of the art and design in one of Chicago's premier parks. Some must-see highlights include: Frank Gehry's Jay Pritzer Pavilion, an outdoor concert venue; the Cloud Gate, lovingly referred to as the Bean by locals, which is a mirrored bean-like structure designed by British artist Anish Kapoor; and, by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, the ...

Pro tip: show up when they open in the morning so you won't wait over an hour in line. I was there during the winter and I still waited at least an hour in line during the day. Can't imagine how crazy it'll get during the summer. It does get pretty warm in there. Once you get through the long ...

    Wrigley Field

1060 West Addison Street, Chicago, IL
    4.5
    161 reviews

Wrigley is one of the few baseball stadiums in the country that still has old-time charm. I was struck by the lack of advertisements (despite it being named after a large company), as many other stadiums are dominated by obnoxious corporate plugs and billboards galore. Definitely get seats in the bleacher section; it'll make for a classic summer memory.

The special exhibitions are what make the Museum of Science in industry. Otherwise, can feel a bit dated. Do your research ahead of time to make sure there is something you'd like to see.

After the World's Fair, the Field Museum was born and took residence in the Palace of Fine Arts (now the Museum of Science and Industry), in order to display artifacts from the fair. The museum has since changed locations and has grown to include other notable attractions, such as Sue the dinosaur. In 2013, to commemorate the 120 year anniversary ...

It's huge, beautiful, and looks like the ocean. If only the air were salty, it would be fairly easy to trick someone into believing it wasn't a lake. A great lake, indeed.

Second City is hands-down my favorite thing to do in Chicago. On any given day, they have 2-3 different sketch comedy shows nightly, each with a quirky theme that pokes fun at timely topics like US politics or online dating. The actors are roll-on-the-floor funny (many famous SNL actors rose up from Second City), and the sketches are often very ...

Best tour in the city. It's expensive, but seeing the city by the river is the best way. Docents are extremely knowledgable. A good thing to do on a nice Sunday afternoon with a Bloody Mary in hand. Bar on board! The architecture in Chicago is stunning! Highly recommend.
