This is a wonderful place to take children! There's a ton of things to do, I would definitely recommend going just to be in the butterfly room (I believe on Wednesday mornings there are even yoga classes in there!). There are a ton of exhibits, all of which are hands on. There are more than enough exhibits to fill a ...

As far as a northern beach goes, this place is wonderful. Yes, the water may be too cold to really be in the water very long, the vast sand beaches are reminiscent of Florida, and the cityscape view while enjoying beach activities is great.

    4.5
    11 reviews

the Chicago Children's Museum is on Navy Pier and is great for all ages. The only negative is the parking - it's expensive (expect to pay about $22), there's no discount, and there's nowhere else to park. However the museum itself is great - small kids will love the grocery store or digging for fossils or the fire engine. Bigger ...

Pretty much one of the funnest activities to do with a group whether it's family, friends, coworkers...it's a mix of bumper cars, basketball, and lacrosse-- it can get intense! Aside from the Whirlyball courts, they have laser tag, arcade games, sports on TV, and surprisingly amazing collection of craft beers.

I used this sculpture as a landmark when I was running around the city as a kid. It wouldn't be Federal Plaza without it, and I hope they never get rid of it.

A lovely place to spend the afternoon/evening. There are a few trails that, if you ignore the sounds of traffic on Lake Shore Drive, seem to teleport you out of the city and into a world of natural beauty. great for winter, believe it or not, as they have a greenhouse. We used to go there in the depths of winter when we just had to get out of the house with the babies. In the summer they have an outdoor market and lots of great family activities. And it's free or cheap, depending on the day.
