    Grant Park

337 East Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60601-7403
    39 reviews

Just happened to be in town for the annual blues festival this weekend. Lots of fun! They had a street festival with food, drinks and souvenir/ trinkets. Other than that this park is still pretty to walk through, but doesn't hold much entertainment value.

What a beautiful park in Chicago along the lake! Lots of great bike/running trails, fields and on the north end, there's also a free zoo! I loved staying in the neighborhood and going on a morning bike ride starting from here to Navy Pier and back.

The Michigan Avenue Bridge is an easy way to cross the Chicago River, though it's even more exciting when the bridge goes up to let the boats go by.

Tacos, whiskey shots, and pitchers of margaritas may not sound like much, but this bar has some of the best of all three this side of the Rio Grande. If the weather is good, plan to spend a casual Sunday afternoon at this Mexican staple.

    The University of Chicago

This place captured my heart. It's more architecturally beautiful than king Henry viii castle in London. This campus is so big I feel like I could get lost in corridors for days. Take a walk through campus if you enjoy architecture at all.

I loved my Chicago visit. There's so many distinctive things to do, see, and eat when you visit Chicago. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather on our winter trip and were able to walk and trolley around the Michigan Ave. area without needing excessive access to public transportation. It's a total experience of music, percussion, pantomime and out-and-out weirdness; and it's also some of the most fun you can have in the city of Chicago.
