Very Good! - 81% of guests recommend

I really liked this place and mainly because of the quality of attention of the staff. They were so kind and accommodating. They also all my questions and were very happy to show me all the services on offer and where to go for more information and help. The apartments are well equipped. It’s a good idea to choose the ...

    San Cristobal Tower

    San Cristobal Tower

    Class:
    3.5

First off there are two parts to this hotel, one is the regular rooms. It seems people here are confusing that with the tower. The San Crisotbal Tower is a very posh luxury stay especially on the upper floors. Make sure to book a room on a high floor as it looks out over the whole city from panoramic windows. ...

    Hotel Astronomico Elqui Domos

Elqui Valley is a magical place and this part of Chile boasts the clearest night skies of anywhere in the world. This hotel was a real innovator of its time. Where else in the world can you lie in bed, zip back the roof and gaze up at shooting stars? Our tent was clean and comfortable, if a little basic. ...

    Cascadas de las Animas

We found Cascadas de las Animas through our lonely planet guide and then coupled that with some online research before we chose to stay here. Cascadas is like a camp lodge area, with very rustic woodsy lodges. We make a booking for one of the most basic options they had that accommodated 4 with 1 bedroom, one living room wth ...

Good! - 78% of guests recommend

This hotel has been here forever and one gets the feeling that it's relying on the nostalgia of its long-term loyal clients to keep it busy. There are things to like about the hotel: The rooms are large and most actually have a separate sitting room. The location is great – it's right on the border of the wonderful Lastarria ...

Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

I think I expected something else from hotel Orly upon entering than what is really there. Everything felt narrow and cramped. Chile’s older construction leans to the small and diminutive but I think they went too far at the Orly. We tried to get 3 in the elevator and there was nothing doing. The hall ways, bedrooms, and public spaces ...

    Hostal de la Barra

The staff treated me with care and consideration and the hostel was nice and clean. I also really liked the huge, floor-to-ceiling windows in the dormitory — I love classic features when it comes to architecture — but apart from that there wasn’t really anything special about this hotel or anything to make it stand out from the rest. It ...

    Hotel Galerias Santiago

    Class:

Very Good! - 80% of guests recommend

The outdoor pool Hotel Galerias was by far the best feature of the hotel. The decking area was spacious and there’s a covered patio to shield you from the hot sun in the summer months. One major issue with the pool, though, is that it isn’t climatised and so the hotel closes off the area when the weather turns cold. ...

Really? They're doing construction in the middle of the busy season? The smell of varnish was too much. Really? I can see the cables running down the halls for the wifi or they are covered with that cheap medal shrouding? and Really? The receptionist seemed more interested (sorry for the language) showing off her big tits than helping us. She ...

Think Holiday Inn levels of comfort with the added benefit of a bit of Chilean design flair. A little bit corporate looking for me, but on the whole pleasant and comfortable. There’s a reasonable restaurant, but you may want to also explore nearby alternatives for food, especially if staying for more than one night.

I loved this hostel. I loved its recycling program, I loved its reserve of bicycles to rent out, I loved its small patio area with the huge tree in the corner, I loved the bar area at the very back, I loved the relaxing sofa spaces in the lounge, I loved the fully-equipped kitchens (yes, there is more than one!) ...

I loved the view from the roof terrace. It looks directly out over the famous Santa Lucia Hill. The BBQ grill on the terrace was a real plus too. When traveling on a budget it’s great to be able to bring food back to the hostel to cook. Amazingly, the owner recycles the trash. Guests separate their rubbish and he ...

The lady who showed me the rooms greeted me with a kiss on the cheek. It might not be to everyone’s style, but I loved the friendly attitude. I felt instantly relaxed. The best element of this bed and breakfast was the owner. He was a lovely man and welcomed me in with such a happy demeanour — even though in the middle of lunch! — and went well out of his way to make me feel at home. Discounts are possible when staying for a week or more, which is something ...

Great Hotel, very comfortable rooms, the casino is also very decent considering you're in a very small town in southern Chile...it's arguably the best options of night entertainment after dinner in one of the restaurants on main street. By the way, it's very close to those restaurants (walking distance) and no longer than 20 minutes of the ski resort.

At last some competition for the Explora, long considered to be the highest end hotel in the area. An hour's drive from Puerto Natales, or five from Punta Arenas, the Tierra enjoys unbroken views of the Paine mountains and high levels of comfort at a fraction of the prices demanded by the Explora. The owner also has a property in ...
