There will always be a chinatown in every country or large city just like in chicago however I liked the one I visited because I found authentic chinese stuff specially the herbal and medicines. Got myself some chrysanthemum authentic tea which i would usually ask my friends in china to get me. Worth the visit.

As far as Chinatowns go, this one isn't one of the best. That said, still a nice diversion especially if you live in the city. Just don't expect NY or San Francisco.

The colorful corner of the city is alive with traditional festivals, the scents of exotic spices, and a cacophony of dialects emanating from busy dumpling houses and noodle shops. Whether you come for the dim sum or the dragon boat races, this is a culturally rich section of Chicago worth exploring.

Founded in 1983, Chinatown is a fantastic example of a culturally progressive neighborhood. Though people from all over the world visit- the locals manage to keep the energy, and vitality of the Asian culture alive with no apologies. A walk through Chinatown can be an educational history lesson on the customs of the Chinese American community.Recommended for:History Buffs

this was the very first Chinatown I ever went to and it will always hold a special place in my heart, even though back in the day when I used to go there, it was surrounded by a horrible neighborhood that reminded me of a demilitarized zone.

Chinatown is an awesome place to explore! There are tons of little shops (although after a while, most of them are basically the same). At the little stores one can buy anything from vitamins to cute wall decals. I've found some unique stuff at the shops, like gorgeous tea sets and beautiful hand-painted posters.
There is also an incredible amount of restaurants in the area. However, they are not all the same quality. Some are excellent, and others are risky.
