Located in one of Rome's up and coming areas, San Giovanni, this place feels more like a private apartment than a hotel or B&B. With only 5 rooms, all beautifully decorated and equipped with all the modern comforts you need for a great stay, this super stylish guest house is the perfect alternative if you want to feel at home and away from super touristy areas. However, you can reach the metro and a lot of cool sights-like the Colosseum, Circo Massimo, Terme di Caracalla, Caffarella (a wonderful park few tourists get to visit) and, of course, the San Giovanni Cathedral-on foot!! This guest house is on the first floor of a grand building and provides a quiet place to lay your head at night and get breakfast served in your room in the morning! Did I mention the staff is super friendly and helpful? In a few words, I loved this place! Oh yeah, and if you come by car, you can park nearby for 15 euros a day, which is a steal compared to anywhere in the center!

Not a hotel in the traditional sense, Chroma Pente is more of a bed and breakfast/guest room type of establishment. The 'hotel' is located just a few blocks from the San Giovanni metro stop on Linea A. In general, not a bad location, but with the construction going on for the construction of the Linea C metro line, the area is kind of a mess. I did find the hotel a bit difficult to find --the buzzer to call the hotel is on the right as you face the building. Sometimes there is a person manning the door who can usually help you find where you need to go if you get lost or confused (like me). However, the area is well-connected to public transport. I just didn't find the area all that interesting, but there are worse areas in Rome.
As for the hotel, I really liked the effort that they put into the rooms. They are quite modern and well taken care of, and the rooms were also clean. However, the staff are nice and helpful, and they offer a variety of services depending on your travel needs.

Great room, good location, friendly staff!
Located in a very accesible area (between San Giovanni and Re di Roma metro stations), yet in a quiet area during the night, Chroma Pente was a pleasant surprise considering that it is not a hotel but a guesthouse.
The room was very spacious and very creative decorated, somehow on my taste... and the chroma-therapy shower was a great way to relax before going to bed.
Not to forget the staff, who was more than friendly and helpful, even giving us complimentary gifts before departure.
