My family has been taking people here for 13 years. This restaurant has ton of character with really funky decor like hubcaps and framed pictures of pets. While all the chuy's locations are known to have some long wait times, the staff is very efficient at trying to make things move as quickly as possible. We often take a group of 20 people here and it is one of the few places in Austin that you can bring such a large group. The food is great tex-mex and my usual order consists of a big as you face burrito, creamy jalapeno ranch and of course a mexican martini. The food comes out really quickly and the service is fast. A great option for first-timers or returners to Austin.

Chuy's is a great place to go if you can get in early. It is not worth a 45 minute wait in my opinion. We went last weekend in a large group and I had the Chuychanga, which is my favorite thing to order there, with verde sauce and queso on the side. The Chuychanga is a giant burrito that contains chicken, green chiles, and other mexican staple vegetables and is lightly fried and topped with sour cream. It is very good, but not good enough for a ridiculous wait time. Oh, I do highly recommend the margaritas, as they are delicious!
