You can barely tell that this is a hotel now, and not a palace any longer. Amazing location right on the water and close to historic tourist sights.

Rejans is an historic bistro located in the back streets of Pera. Rejans was orignally founded by Russian emigres from the Civil War. It was extremely popular during the 1930's and 40's with diplomats, spies and even Ataturk himself. The interior is quiet and intimate. On the bar there are a number of bottles of liquor in interesting shapes like ...Popular withHistoryLocalFoodies

Decent food and friendly service. The host offered us a discount on the street, but then insisted that we sit in a highly visible location to draw others in (we had wanted to eat on the roof, not street level). The discount never did materialize, but prices were reasonable so I can't complain.Popular withFoodiesBudgetLocal

It was a beautiful February day , lunch time, so I decided to check this place. It was so warm that I took a sit outside. It is pretty good actually, near to Sultanahmet square. Because of the good food and service, the place is very crowded and busy all the time.

The House Cafe has restaurants all of the city and establishments is Ankara and Antalya as well. My personal favorite is the Nisantasi location, but no matter which restaurant you go to, you will be assured quality food and service. For such a trendy restaurant with good food the prices are not too expensive. An entree is around 25 to ...Popular withStudentsTrendstersBackpackers

My wife and I first had Wagamama at the location on Istiklal Caddesi, which has since closed. There are however other locations in the city. It was always a little pricey but good Japanese is not easy to come by in Turkey. I liked how the meal was served piecemeal as each dish was ready. The food was always fresh ...

The idea of eating sheep intestines might not appeal to most but if you walk past a Kokorec stand I guarantee your mouth will water at the smell, and for good reason. The meat is cooked until incredibly tender and packed full of herbs. The taste of both gets soaked up by the bread and results in a delicious sandwich.Popular withFoodiesLocal

This restaurant is attached to the Suleymaniye Mosque in part of the complex that was built by Mimar Sinan. Great Traditional Ottoman cuisine and can hold a large group of people. Not the most amazing Ottoman food I have had, but certainly one of the best. The atmosphere makes up for anything that may be lacking in the food. I ...

I often would meet friends at this Starbucks when I lived in Istanbul. Despite having two floors it was nearly always packed. The baristas are unfortunately rather impatient with foreigners, which is foolish since they are located on one of the main tourist thoroughfares.Popular withBackpackersStudentsFamilies

Mangerie is a lovely cafe in Bebek, on a roof terrace, with a bit of Bebek Bay view... Very popular for breakfast & brunch amongst the cool residents of Bebek... The cuisine is very special, their cakes & desserts are to die for... Also geri good cocktails...
