You might see other tourists here but it is mainly for the locals. The open-air meat markets and veggie stands say it all. Still, you can find some unique jewelry and cloths, called kikoys or kangas, here.

A market now full of souvenirs for travelers and tourists. A fine place to have a look around, but also a place to bargain if you want to buy.

The markets of Kenya are one of the best attractions and are a must see for any visitor. Artists and business people from throughout Nairobi bring their goods to these markets and sell them for ridiculously cheap prices. For about a few US dollars, any tourist is able to purchase authentic African relics. I found some very unique item for family, friends and myself which I still cherish to this day.

Description

Nairobi residents come here to buy staples like vegetables, meat, and the colorful kikoys that women wear. Visitors enjoy shopping this vibrant two storey market for authentic souvenirs like soapstone carvings, Masai blankets, sisal baskets, and beaded jewelry. This is a locals’ market first so haggling is the norm.
