Far from fancy, City Suites nevertheless offers the essentials for those looking to stay away from downtown. I didn’t feel like the hotel was particularly spacious, though the location is probably its biggest selling point.
Belmont Avenue offers several shops and restaurants within the immediate vicinity, and visitors can also catch a concert or movie at nearby Vic Theater. Wrigley Field is within walking distance, as is the LGBT-friendly Boystown. The Belmont Red Line and a variety of headshops and alternate-lifestyle stores are just around the corner. Trader Todd’s is a good bar to visit for some karaoke, and Sheffield’s will please beer aficionados looking for craft brews. The hotel itself may not blow your socks off, but there’s plenty to do in the neighborhood.

City Suite is perfect for travelers looking to get out of the Loop and experience one of Chicago's northside neighborhoods. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and have complimentary WiFi. The location is also great for those looking for a little nightlife, with plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance (on warm summer nights, I love Sheffield's, which is just a couple of blocks from the hotel).

I can't say this for certain, but I suspect a lot of City Suites' business comes from folks who've been having too much fun in Wrigleyville and Boystown and decide to spend the night instead of taking a taxi home. Between the Belmot el station and the bars in the area, it can get pretty noisy. The hotel's decor is basic, its rooms are cozy, and the wifi and continental breakfasts are free.

Hidden amongst the storefronts on the crowded street of Belmont Avenue, I had to walk by two or three different times before I actually found the City Suites Hotel!
If you're into shopping, this is a great place for you to say. Different from the expensive shops along the Magnificent Mile, Belmont Avenue offers quirky and alternative stores like Belmont Army and Taboo-Tabou. Wrigley Field is also within walking distance and there are a lot of fun smoke shops and sports stores along the way.
As if being in one of Chicago's liveliest neighborhoods wasn't enough, this hotel is also located directly next to the Belmont Red Line station. Hop on the train and you're about 20 minutes away from the heart of the Loop.
The City Suites' rooms were a bit on the small side with the king or queen-sized beds taking up the majority of the space, but everything was nice and orderly so it really didn't bother me that they weren't the biggest.Recommended for:Trendsters

This is a very relaxed atmosphere, considering it exists at the feet of Wrigleyville. It can get a little bit rowdy at night. But if you’re in town for a Cubs game, this is a great location. The rooms are a little smaller. I’d recommend going in for a suite. The Belmont CTA stop next door will get you anywhere you need to go, and if you find yourself not back in your room, and it’s after ten pm, try Cheesie’s. I love Cheesie’s with every unclogged piece of my heart. If you decide to take Clark up to Wrigley field (or walk, ya bum), you’re not going to have any trouble finding a decent bar. I recommend Lucky’s, for the sandwiches. It’s been on Man vs. Food! (They will remind you of that).
