Great Sicilian style gelateria. There are many places to have great gelato, and Ciuri Ciuri was one of the best I had! :)

Ciuri Ciuri serves up excellent Sicilian-style gelato. One of the top in Roma.

I had the pistacchio gelato, my tester flavor to gauge the quality of a gelateria, and Ciuri Ciuri passed with two gold stars. It had rich nutty flavor, and a bit of nut crunch. But right now I want to go back (a long haul from San Francisco) and try a coffee granita. I'll have to save it for the next trip.

Unfortunately I have not yet been to Sicily. But I've had cannoli in New York... and I had no idea. I didn't think I liked cannolis until I had one here. Absolutely delicious!!! It's supposed to be one of the best Sicilian bakeries in Rome. I haven't tried any other because I kept going here!

Description

Where, oh where does one find a dangerously delicious Sicilian gelateria-pasticceria-rosticceria in Rome? The answer: head over to the Monti district where you'll find all the classics made with fresh, seasonal ingredients made with a sweeter, Sicilian flare. Cassata, cannolo, granita, gelato -- try one, try them all! Most come in mini sizes so you can feel free to indulge.
