A Kadikoy institution with tables spread over 3 buildings on one street. Ciya does an amazing selection of salads and cold food, which is priced by weight, as well as fantastic kebabs. They also serve yemek, which literally means food but usually means home-style food such as stews. Delish!Recommended for:

Chef Musa Dagdeviren is like an anthropologist of food. Or a historian. Or just a guy who doesn't want a single recipe to get lost. He travels all over Turkey collecting special recipes, and then comes back and cooks them at this restaurant. It's very casual (and inexpensive)--and great for non-Turkish speakers because you just point at the salads you want, and point at the hot dishes, and then they bring them over. You will taste sensational things, I promise. And as a bonus, it's in the middle of a very cool produce market. Oh, and the Ciya Kebab place across the street is also delicious, though not with such variety.Recommended for:

Yum. Worth the trip. Let them order for you. Best (Turkish) lunch or dinner food you will eat. The boat-ride, the walk through the market, the service, the authenticity of the modern take on the traditional Anatolian cuisine - quite an experience.
