While the concrete apron surrounding this sheltered ocean "pool" may be off-putting at first, this spot is also Sydney's best easily accessible snorkeling location. With giant blue gropers, colorful wrasses and the occasional stingray (plus some neat underwater rockscapes), the breakwall also saves the spot from disruptive swell or currents. The hard part for visitors? Finding a snorkel.

A super unique set-up. A compressed sandy shore that turns into a concrete chute leading all the way out to the surf at the rocky point. It takes all the surge out of the water, and means it is calm here even on rough ocean days. The concrete also makes for a wonderful ocean-lane for doing laps. There is supposed to be decent snorkeling out at the rocky point too.
