This Loop-based outpost of the Club Quarters franchise offers luxury along with the exclusivity and privacy that some people deem essential. In order to score a room here, you’ll need to gain membership through one of the hotel’s corporate partners. You can ask your employer if they are one of them. Downstairs, a concierge or two greets guests, answering any questions and making sure no non-members or wandering buffalo find their way inside. The central-Loop location also puts business pros within a short distance of theatres, if seeing a play or a musical seems interesting. As a bonus, the hotel is connected to an Elephant & Castle. E&C isn’t anything special because it’s a chain, but it does have Guinness on tap and each location seems to retain at least some of that classic Irish-pub charm, so you can do a lot worse when it comes to downtown bars.

This is a nice hotel in the financial district. I love the self-serve kiosks in the lobby, but I didn't love the seating area in off the lobby (which felt more like a waiting room at the dentist than a place to relax). The rooms are tight but functional, clean, and airy, with updated bathrooms (no bathtubs, though, so keep that in mind if you're the type to soak in the tub at the end of the day). There's an Elephant & Castle attached to the lobby--they've got pretty good pub-style, comfort food and a nice beer selection.

As it was once a private, members-only hotel, it's no surprise that the Club Quarters, Central Loop Hotel resembles a classy country club. From the sharply dressed employees to the deep navy walls of the hallways, everything about the hotel screamed upscale preppy--in the best way possible. Striped duvets in all the rooms and framed Chicago portraits throughout the hotel added to that ambiance, while the members only Club Living Room gave it an extra air of exclusivity.

Resembling the self check-in kiosks at many airports around the globe, the hotel also had self check-in screens for guests to confirm their stay without a word to the workers at the marble registration desk.

All of the employees were very accommodating--especially Andi Miller, who greeted everyone with whole-hearted enthusiasm and grace.

I would give it 3.5 but the value is quite incredible. Located in the Financial District, Central Loop is in close proximity to everything. They have free wifi and free water by the elevators. The room itself is quite small but has everything you need!
