Marco Island is a tranquil island that is a peaceful and tranquil destination that gives one the opportunity to watch the dolphins swim by as you sit on the beach. The restaurants are lovely and cute and it's an enjoyable trip for families as well as couples.Recommended for:Family Travelers

Two-bedroom, two-bath condos on the beach; about 1,000 sq. ft. or so. Smallish but very nice swimming pool, tennis courts not busy in hottest weather- easy to get time. Units are spacious, either overlooking the beach or the pool area. Furnishings are adequate, kitchens are quite good- enough room to make meals for friends. The office staff can get you additional cooking and serving equipment. Bathrooms are smallish but countertop space is very good. Everything here is a bit old, but quite well maintained. Some of these timeshare units are for sale, but rental is a better deal. Next door is another timeshare, Eagles Nest, and one more building north is Marriott Marco Beach Resort with full service restaurants. Just a short 5 to 10 minute walk to town, a few stores are almost right across the street.
Best features: the white sugar sand beach, easy 30 minute drive onto the mainland to a real city, Naples. Great entertainment at restaurants all over Marco Island, and also in Naples. Drive down to the river at Marco to charter a fishing trip. Rent a boat and go up the intercoastal waterway north to Naples, or cruise south to Cape Romano at the edge of the Everglades.
