I'm a sucker for sweets, and this place has a good assortment of them. Some of the items are serious eye candy, so I usually end up picking at least 2 and sharing them, or in some cases hogging it up for myself. My favorites here are the mango mousse, 3 layer chocolate, tiramisu, and some buttery flaky pastry with custard filling that has a french name I can never pronounce. Their tri-tip sandwich is pretty good too if you ever want to try something other than dessert. On the rare occasions when I choose not to gawk at the pastry display case, I opt for a banana hot chocolate. Yum!Recommended for:

This little bakery kind of reminds me of a bakery boutique: cute with small tables and chairs to sit on inside and outside of this place. Cocola Bakery is located on Santana Row and several people were dining here on a Monday afternoon. I only wanted something small so I went with a Mini Strawberry Mint Tart (~$2) and iced tea. Tea is tea, and wasn't anything out of the ordinary and the fruit tart was petite and delicious. I just didn't like that it cost so much for such a small thing .
Other than that, Cocola Bakery had several items for lunch including fresh salads, pasta salads, and fresh fruit. If I knew they had these items, I would have came here for a healthy lunch. Also, if I knew they had fresh squeezed juice, I would have gotten the OJ with Apple Juice! Next time Marthie, next time.

OK, admit it! If you have ever been to Santana Row, as a neophite or as a Row Rat, there are probably 2 places you have been:
1. This place
2. Straights Cafe
They are across from each other, separated by a walkway that leads to the main multi-story parking garage on one side. and the main street down Santana Row on the other.
You probably came here to get a coffee and dessert, and either did, or decided the line was too long and moved on. If you stayed, you probably sat outside and people watched others either:
a) eating at Straights or
b) trying to look cool with brand name shopping bags flopping about
c) or trying to pick up somebody with a glance and a smile!
And there is a 89.8% chance that those you watch are either
a) Chinese/Vietnamese/Japanese/Fi lipina/Korean (with the shopping bags),
b) Persian (they are doing the pick up passes), or
c) look out of place (those actually not caring how they look!)
Am I right?
I don't have a big sweet tooth, so I go here mostly for a hot beverage, usually a soy latte. The coffees are fine, the desserts are decent, and the decor attempts to be nice. It is usualy packed with all tables taken and a line to order.
Last time I checked this place was Persian owned, which is perfect, because a lot of the Persian Diaspora shops here at Santana Row.

i don't know about the coffee....the hot chocolate is pretty good......and as for most of the desert I love...I don't really care for the fruit made ones but some of them have their moments. the one particular pastry is the one that I don't know how to spell nor am willing to find out...so I will just sound it out for you....fweeeee-yet. HAHAHA! I know that is not how you spell it....it looks like a puffed up and tastier looking pop tart......sorry that was a bad example. Pop tarts are horrendous.....so I'm told, but this fweeeeeee-yet is nice and flaky with some kind of custard in the middle.....
I know where I'm going in a couple of hours....
see you there...

I almost always stop by Cocola for a sweet snack or Americano when I'm shopping at the row! Most of the desserts are decent, but the standout pastry is their french macarons. Oh, how I love these colorful puffs of chewy goodness! While they don't stack up to Bouchon or macarons in Paris, french macarons are not easy to come by, and they do taste yummy here. Try the pistachio! I have also ordered a few dozen coconut and french macarons as favors for a party before.

When shopping at Santana Row and you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, have a pastry or slice of cake and sit outside. They have yummy tiramisu and the whole cakes are perfect for a special occasion. Most of the chocolate ones are very rich, so a tiny cake for a friend's birthday will still be sufficient.
