The crown of the Wild Coast, this low-key and very undeveloped little surf, stoner, and party spot is one of my favorite places on Earth. The Xhosa people here are super-friendly, the surf break is great to learn on, and there's a real sense of African culture here that you don't get in most of the rest of the country -- a legacy of its time as part of the Transkei, an apartheid African "homeland". The parties are out of control and the scene is as beautiful and relaxed as you could ask. A highlight of southern Africa.
