Had a laptop-coffee date while a group of peeps next to us were discussing film.
Nice outdoor seating on a sunny Sunday.
Hipster ambience with a cup of delicious cappuccino.
The location is surrounded by interesting restaurants and a pet store.
meter parking $1/hr on a Sunday til 8pm (when they close)Recommended for:

Ah, yes. The viral trend of industrial-looking snooty coffee bars strikes again. The problem is, I really love this coffee. They'll even make you a cafe cubano, if you need a little sweetness in the a.m. And the pastries and pour-over brews are just as tasty. The huge downside is how long the lines are, and how slow the service is (not because the baristos are slacking, but because they craft each cup by hand). Still, the flavor is worth the wait any day!Recommended for:

My go-to coffee shop. I call this my neighborhood coffee joint. I can walk here, there are some hipsters, but mostly industry folks having coffee or writing, and it's right next to fat dog so you can go have a beer with your dog there. lindy & grundy is right there too so you can take home a sausage when you leave. coffee commissary is like intelligentsia but with less hype, annoying people, and it's awesome coffee.

A medium sized, quality focused cafe that features a mix of coffees roasted around the West Coast and an amazing cappuccino. The cafe is inside a sort of modern mixed-use building, with apartments up top, a restaurant next door and a handful of small shops nearby.
There's quite a bit of seating in all kinds of different layouts, which makes it work well for either being social or being on a laptop. The front is best for socializing. There is a small sort of bar area inside and a patio outside that is shared with the restaurant next door.
The back is great for using a laptop, if you can get one of the larger seats. There are plenty of outlets and the seats are surprisingly comfortable, considering they're wooden.
