I enjoyed my stay at The Nines. The hotel features a lounge/restaurant on the top floor called Departure and a Steakhouse/casual bar on the 5th floor. The room itself was cozy and the decor elevated the relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, the hotel is situated in an hourly primarily known for shopping. I was hoping there would be more food in the ...

Easy access downtown Portland parking with in and out priviledges, and standard hitlon room affair. What blew me away from my experience here is the gym. Indoor pool, cardio machines, free weights, racketball court, and towel service. Staff was very helpful when it cam to recomending local restaurants. Will definately repeat.

I felt like I was on the outside of an inside joke when I was greeted by the doormen of the the Heathman iin full “Beefeaters” uniform. Just like the British ones that adorn the London tower, these “guardians of the tower”, set the mood for the hotel’s Old English ambiance. The dark-wooded lobby is small, but leads to the ...

Located on SW 11th Street, about four blocks from the main thoroughfare of SW Broadway, the Governor hotel is in easy reach of all that Portland has to offer. This is an old style hotel (renovated in 1992) that has successfully combined expectations of modern luxury and amenities with the exceptional decor and taste befitting the age and style of ...

When “Old Hollywood” romanced modern decor they had a lovechild and named it the Paramount Hotel. A friendly concierge greeted me and we were instant friends. We talked, en route to see a room, about favorite travel spots and just as he starts to explain how Japan is calm amidst ‘all that darn chaos’; I entered. The rooms are what ...

While this is not my favorite of the three downtown Marriots I've visited in Portland (that honor--if you want to call it that--goes to the waterfront location), I do think this little Marriott is a good value and in an amazing location. It's on the corner of Washington and Broadway streets, which is pretty close to the dead center of ...

Fun, funky, hip and best of all affordable. This is part of a trendy chain of hotels bringing modern style and some sas to the stuffy hotel chain concept. Each hotel is decorated and appointed differently. The Portland Ace hotel is great. Comfy and friendly. Keep in mind that it's high style at a low budget. So if they are ...

This is probably the most famous hotel in Portland, and really sets the standard for Portland's bigger hotels. Built around 1912, the Benson has an old feel of luxury and elegance set in the subdued shades of a bygone age. In fact you can have a room in the old part or the new part of the hotel, both parts ...

I couldn’t tell if this hotel was new with an old vibe or old with a new vibe, but after closer inspection (and asking a most likely dumb question) I found it’s the latter. Keeping in line with boutique hotels, where the architecture varies room to room, the rooms themselves are upscale, plush, with nice furniture and a comfy feel. ...

In what I consider the exact perfection location in Portland (right on the water in a beautiful, relatively quiet setting but just a few minutes' walk from downtown) is this Kimpton Hotel. Well designed and with a fantastic restaurant (with a view as good as its locally sourced food), it's got it all.

For $250 a month, way over price. The hotel is really old and it has a weird smell to it. Make sure you ask for a room on the interior or facing non-voodoo donut side (it's loud from morning to night). Breakfast is included in the price; however, the food was as good as Danny's. I’ve walked by downtown Portland’s Mark Spencer countless times without ever realizing it was a hotel. From the outside, the large old building housing the hotel looks more like a luxury apartment building or maybe an office—you won’t see any fancily garbed doorman here. Once inside, you’ll find floor upon floor of rooms and suites (some with kitchenettes). While many ...

I like this hotel for its ease of use! You walk in to a modern lobby that looks more like an airline counter area which gives it a feeling of efficiency and movement. Somehow they managed to design the lobby so it does not look like a modern office lobby! The hotel's atmosphere I would describe as comfortably efficient and ...

This downtown motel is by far the best deal in the city center, and the friendly management are an added bonus. A good deal pretty close to downtown Portland, this Marriott is comfortable, clean and half the rooms have a beautiful riverfront view. My mom loved the indoor pool and hot tub. There's a full breakfast (not included) restaurant, but it's pricy, so I'd suggest grabbing a croissant at the cafe next to the front desk. Parking is valet only, so ...

The McMenamins are a small chain of concept hotels refurbishing historic buildings and creating a fun pub scene. I love looking at old buildings and seeing how they are restored and brought back to life this alone makes this hotel an experience. The school auditorium is converted to a movie theater and multiple rooms are bars.
