    Museo del Oro

    Colombia
    4.5
    23 reviews

One of the best museums I've been to - it is a good combination of modern displays and architecture as well as the telling of a rich history of this country.

    Botero Museum

Avenida Calle 82, Bogotá, Bogota, Colombia

    19 reviews

Out of the many times I have been in Bogota, this was my first visit to Botero Museum. I am not a fan of museums because most have famous names with their bad art, rather than just good art. This is an exception. This place has amazing art work from all sorts of artists, famous and mostly not famous. It ...

    Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá

    Zipaquira, Cundinamarca, Colombia
    4.5
    19 reviews

An amazingly salty landmark! This cathedral was carved by local miners on a mountain formed of salt and rock. This underground site is about a mile long adorned with carvings such as angels, altars and crosses that are mostly beautifully lighten by colored neon lights; the interior is extremely hot and humid. The walls are so salty that I bet ...

    Cafe del Mar

Baluarte de Santo Domingo, Cartagena, Bolívar, Colombia
    4
    15 reviews

It has all the features of a generic tourist destination: nice sunset view from a historic landmark, over-priced watered-down cocktails (8 USD for a Mojito), crowds of tourists thirsting to experience local culture.. If that sounds like a place you want to visit, keep in mind that it can get quite windy and cold at night.

    Castillo de San Felipe

Castillo San Felipe de Barajas, Cartagena, Bolivar, Colombia

The history of this castle is pretty interesting, and it's well covered by the hour-long audioguide. However, I'd suggest going in the morning, as it can get incredibly hot walking along the ramparts at mid-day.

Cool colonial church on top of the cerro de Monserrate overlooking Bogota. Great views of the city. The cable car ride up is fun, and nearby there are a bunch of food vendors selling traditional regional food. It is a great place to go on a weekend for a couple of hours around lunch time

    La Candelaria

    4.5
    10 reviews

La Candelaria is Bogotá old city. There are colonial-style buildings, cobbled streets, centuries-old churches and restaurants that have been serving since the 1800s. With the view of Monserrate, the endless amount of restaurants and cafes, La Candelaria the perfect place to get lost in while in Bogotá.

    Cerros De Monserrate

    8 reviews

At the top of Monserrate it is really easy to impressed by the size of Bogotá. The view of the third largest city in South America is pretty overwhelming from here. Catch either the funicular, the train or you can walk up. But a word of warning, if the steepness of the climb doesn't get you the altitude will because ...

La Piedra de Penol is an incredible day trip if you'll be spending some time in Medellin. The geological formation is nestled in the middle of one of Colombia's most beautiful regions and after a nice hike (maybe 30 minutes or so), visitors can take in sprawling views in every direction. A lovely colorful church in a very small street in Candeleria/Centro area of Bogota. It is a one of the main attractions of Bogota (but only recently been there to see it after 4 years). It is not crowded like the other tourist spots as it on the outskirts of Candeleria, but easy to walk to. The church has wonderful ...

    Plaza de Santo Domingo

    Roman, Cartagena, Colombia
    4.5
    5 reviews

Plaza de Santo Domingo is a charming plaza in Old City. There are many restaurants and tables and at night the square is bustling with people. There are probably better and less touristy restaurants around Old City, but this square is worth checking out even if just in passing.
