    Museo del Oro

    23 reviews

This is a very impressive museum, especially the last circular room where you are literally surrounded by artifacts. The collection is extensive and the location in the heart of the city is ideal.

    Botero Museum

Avenida Calle 82, Bogotá, Bogota, Colombia
    18 reviews

The Botero Museum was one of my favorite places to visit in Bogota. The musuem had a small, but great collection of botero paintings. I only had limited exposure to Botero prior to visiting this museum, but the art just made me laugh and smile every time. The museum fee has a nominal fee and is never that crowded so ...

    Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá

Many people love the Salt Cathedral, but I found myself underwhelmed by it. It's interesting, sure, but just not my thing.

    Bogotá Cathedral

    Carrera 8, Bogota, Colombia
    16 reviews

One of my favourite squares in South America, Bogota's main plaza is big and Spanish looking - exactly what you expect from a main plaza. Take a walk around the presidential palace more more spectacular views.

This place is a MUST at sunset. Relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy fantastic sangrias and cocktails while enjoying the stunning seafront view. During the 4 days I spent in Cartagena I went every day for sunset drinks and loved it.

    La Candelaria

    10 reviews

I did enjoy La Candelaria, the historic part of Bogota. I did not, however, enjoy how scary it is if you wander even a block in the wrong direction. Keep your wits about you here, but also enjoy the historic charm.

    Cerros De Monserrate

    Calle 2 # 48, Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia
    8 reviews

A beautiful steep mountain where you can view all of Bogotá. You will take a gondola upwards to the top of the mountain. I would suggest eating at the eateries before going up, because the once up top, the cost of food is quite expensive (comparatively). Since this area is higher in altitude you will also come across cold winds, ...

The Iglesia de Monserrate was built in 1925 and it has served as a special Church for pilgrims. In order to get to this Church, you need to take a funicular (cable car) and go up to the top (ten thousand feet high).

Colombia's second oldest museum, and located right behind the Plaza de Esculturas. The museum has several additional Botero pieces, and a nice collection of Colombian art throughout the country's history.

    Volcano de Lodo el Totumo

This mud volcano is just north of Cartagena. Swimming in the grey liquid is supposed to be good for your skin and will definitely make you look like an alíen.

Okay, so I a tech geek, I fell in love with this place. The place I was staying in the second time while in Bogotá was right across the street. I took a walk there and feel in love with all the electronics. The only drawback was there was no Apple Products. This is great place for tech geeks to ...

Excellent museum that will give you a good feel for the country's history and culture dating back from pre-columbian days to present. They have a great collection of indigenous artifacts that are well worth checking out. Be aware that it is not open on Mondays.

    El Carmen Church

Calle 7, Bogotá D.C., Bogota, Colombia
    6 reviews

A lovely colorful church in a very small street in Candeleria/Centro area of Bogota. It is a one of the main attractions of Bogota (but only recently been there to see it after 4 years). It is not crowded like the other tourist spots as it on the outskirts of Candeleria, but easy to walk to. The church has wonderful ...

    Torre Colpatria

Carrera 7 No. 24-89, Bogota Colombia
    6 reviews

Unremarkable, only mentioned for it being the tallest building in Colombia. There is the opportunity to get a nice view from the top, but you´d be better served heading to Monserrate.

    Plaza de Santo Domingo

    Roman, Cartagena, Colombia
    5 reviews

Plaza de Santo Domingo is a charming plaza in Old City. There are many restaurants and tables and at night the square is bustling with people. There are probably better and less touristy restaurants around Old City, but this square is worth checking out even if just in passing.
