Charming coastal village with a lot of interesting history and well-preserved colonial architecture. A perfect outing from Buenos Aires or a destination in and of itself within Uruguay!Recommended for:History Buffs

Love this little town. It's the first stop on the boat from Buenos Aires and a must do if only for an afternoon. We rented a scooter and drove to a beach with cows on it, the water was so warm I didn't want to get out. The town is really nice to walk around and surprisingly empty.

Take the fast ferry (I've seen Buquebus.com advertised, but SeaCat offered a much better deal), for about an hour long ride from Puerto Madero across to this delightful port in Uruguay. We realized after arriving and plotting things out that we would have liked more time. I recommend renting a golf cart or scooters from Punta Car an taking a ride to Plaza Mayor. Check out the old city and then hop back on your cart and take the 10 minute, very scenic ride to Playa Ferrando.

Un hermoso lugar, con mucha historia, su barrio histórico fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad , vale la pena visitar "COLONIA".
A beautiful city to visit, with a lot history. It is renowned for its historic quarter, a World Heritage Site.

This place beautiful. It is full of history and is quiet. It is a out an hour boat ride from buenos aires take from buquebus station. When you get there make sure to turn the right way or you will be bored of the nothingness. Then just enjoy the beautiful view.

I took a day trip out of Buenos Aires and took a boat out to this little seaside town in Uruguay. It was so boring! Nothing to do, the shopping stunk and we were ready to leave after 1 hour. Maybe there are other parts of Uruguay that are great, but not this little town!
