It is easy to "fall in love with Breck" for its 374 yearly powder inches, for having North America’s highest lift, or for encompassing Colorado’s biggest historic district. To entertain yourself at the resort in non-ski ways, ride the new Gold ...

Peak 8 Base Area and Summer Fun Park

A longer drive, but we make this a day trip every year because the kids LOVE it (ages 9 and 11). Absolutely beautiful scenic ride! We just took the train one way because a whole day on the train seemed like it would be a long day. We did a jeep tour in the morning and then took the train back to Durango which was a great combo and super fun! I'd recommend the outdoor cars because it was much easier ...

Water World should not be confused with Elitch Gardens' water park. Both are fantastic places to cool off on a hot day but Water World is a bit bigger and more popular.

    Denver Art Museum

    28 reviews

The Denver Art Museum looks like a cross between a paper weight and a space ship. You can't not love something so irresistibly gaudy. There are a number of outdoor cafes that have decent views of the museum.
