One of the most iconic sights on the planet. A must see. Avoid the line buy buying a Roma Pass at the newsstand across the way next to the metro stop.

Among Roman ruins the Pantheon and the Colosseum are the best preserved. Originally dubbed the Flavian amphitheatre after the dynasty that built it, this stadium was one of Rome's greatest architectural achievements and also the place where countless gladiators and Christian martyrs met their violent ends. Definitely a must see, though it takes a bit of imagination to picture the Colosseum's lost splendor.

I've visited the Colosseum twice, and both times I was overtaken by a dark and sinking feeling. I stood there, looking at the ruins, and thought of the thousands of people who died there and the countless animals as well. It's a truly horrible spot. It made me very thankful for the relatively more peaceful time we live in today.

This is another must see sight. If you are going to do the tour, you mist sign up for them early. Honestly, they're a little more pricier, and they don't take you anywhere you can't see yourself. And make sure you're getting your tour from the people that are supposed to be doing them.
Taking the time to take this all in is awesome! There's not a whole lot of places inside that you can see/walk to, as they're crumbling, or being stabilized, but you can get into about 1/4 of it. If you look towards the left you'll see a small section that still has the seats in it. A fun game to play while you're there, is spot how many cats. They actually make a calender from the Colosseum cats!

One of these monuments you visit, because you have to. It can be very crowded with "tourists", all sorts of people try to sell you all sorts of useless things. if you can avoid or ignore that, then you can enjoy this impressive monument of the mighty roman empire.

The Colosseum is one of the most famous landmarks in Rome. It's large and epic and evokes an ancient time period where gladiators clashed with each other. While it's grand, I personally thought it was a tad bit over hyped. I think it's partially because I've seen it so many times in films and books. Nevertheless, it's still a prerequisite stop.

Astounding to see in person. It's really hard to describe being here, knowing what happened within the wall of this arena. You should be able to buy a combination ticket at Palatine or the Roman forum that will help skip the long lines at the Colosseum.

It's a must see historical landmark. I got to experience this beauty as my first piece of Italy, straight off the plane. Couldn't have been more happy! At the time I was there a portion of it was under construction or restoration or something of that nature, but it was still phenomenal and worth the time!!!!
