This is the 'must do' drive when visiting the Portland area. You'll see the magnificent Timberline Lodge and the spectacular Columbia Gorge. Stop at Multnomah Falls for the incredible views and a short walk (accessible) and don't forget to stop at Bonneville Dam and come face-to-face with Giant Sturgeon via the underwater glass wall - simply breathtaking.
This is a comfortable one day long drive: start out in the morning to give yourself enough time to see the inspiring sights along the way.Recommended for:

The Columbia River Gorge definitely represents Oregon at its greenest and finest. It's filled with wonderful hiking trails and majestic waterfalls. While Multnomah Falls is the grand daddy of waterfalls, don't bypass the others such as Horse Tail Falls or Wahkeena Falls.
