It's the commercial center of Delhi (though Delhi is, of course, rather denucleated), and the place to go to peek in on the modern life of the city. Good restaurants, excellent bookshops, and more than a few grubby dudes offering to clean your ears with filthy metal implements. The underground mall here is also a hotbed of black-market activity: amidst the porno and dodgy electronics, rumor has it Pakistani visas are going for 10,000Rp cash.

Technically Delhi's downtown, this is really more of a transport hub. It used to be a major shopping area although the many malls that have sprouted up in town and in Gurgaon over the past decade have taken away some of its business. Two cinemas.

Where do you go in Delhi if you need to shop, eat, watch a movie, buy clothes, have some drink or just hang out? The answer to all these question is Connaught Place popularly referred to as CP.
Modeled after the Royal Cresent in Bath, England, Connaught Place was built as the business district of Lutyen’s Delhi. CP is instantly recognizable in any map of Delhi. It is divided into separate blocks with a total of 8 entrances to the inner circle which is now called Rajiv Chowk. It also gives name to the one of the busiest metro station in Delhi.
There’s an underground market too named Palika Bazar where you could go bargain shopping for electronics, clothes and other equipments. In the center of the CP is a park named the Central Park where people of Delhi often gather to spend time with friends and family on weekends.
You could find many MNC outlets for shopping, restaurants and bars in the inner circle whereas the outer circle is mostly hotels and eating jounts. Movie theatres and cinema halls as well as office complexes are located in the middle circle of the CP.
CP is the place where as a tourist you’d love to go. Janpath, a faveorite bargain shopping market is also located nearby. The monuments which you could walk to if you are in CP are the Jantar Mantar and Agrasen ki Baoli, a medieval stepwell located in Hailey Road.
The best way to reach Connaught Place is through Delhi Metro. You also have a choice of catching one of the several buses that pass through CP or hire a tuk tuk.

Central area to do some shopping. Around is a great places to eat. The park in the center is an amazing place to just relax or meet friends. I usually use this park as a meeting point.
CP is made my inner ring and outer rings of shopping centers and business and places to eat. This area is also more expensive than most areas of New Delhi, but not as expensive as some of Sothern New Delhi.
It can easily be reached by just abut all Metro Lines.
