Conrad New York

Great location near the World Trade Center and Battery Park. We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite, thanks to HHonors Diamond status. The suite was very spacious and well decorated. We felt like royalty, knowing standard NYC apartments were much smaller in size. We slept very well. The bed was very comfy. My only gripe was the customer ...

There isn't a whole lot to say about the Freedom Tower replacing Twin Towers other than that it symbolizes America's new freedom and a stronger united front for New Yorkers. Recently completed, it's a must to go see from up-close, along with the serene infinity pools at the 9/11 Memorial.

Spring is finally here and it's officially the beginning of rooftop lounge season. So it comes to no surprise that I came to the steps of The James Hotel looking to hangout at JIMMY for the first time. There is no unfortunate day or time to come here. JIMMY has excellent 180 degree views of the Hudson, Freedom Tower, and ...

I first encountered Topshop in London and became obsessed. Their jeans are amazing, never have I gotten so many complements on how flattering my jeans looked on me. Plus there is always something unique there that will set you apart from the crowd. Cans be pricey so go in there with money to spend!

    Bodies The Exhibition

0.86 mi from Conrad New York

Wow! Incredible to see in person. If you haven't heard of the bodies exhibit before I suggest you look it up because it's a bit complicated to explain. They have taken bodies, mostly human bodies and dissected and preserved them and put them on display. There are several of these exhibitions around the country. I had seen a television special ...

Large Chinese/East Asian store that sells just about everything. A great place to buy small gifts (soap, candy, etc.) as well as fancier larger ones - iron teapots, china sets, floor lamps, furniture. A fun place to spend an afternoon - they even have a tea parlor. I recently bought a bedside lamp from there - had to buy the ...

Located in the heart of the TriBeCa neighborhood, the Canal Room is the place to enjoy one of Manhattan's great venues that display popular themes. I recently attended a party called "Saved by the 90s" which included cool decor, fun party favors, and some of the best diverse music pulled out from the 90s archive. When the DJ stopped, the ...

Despite the fact that this once bohemian quarter of warehouses converted into artists' lofts has now been overrun by chains, luxury brands and the like, it's still hip and full do unique little businesses if you search for them. A fun place to stroll and explore during the day and even more so at night.

    Staten Island Ferry

0.94 mi from Conrad New York

Very little is free in New York, including bathrooms. The Staten Island Ferry, however, gives you one of the best views of Lower Manhattan. I've never found Staten Island to be particularly exciting but even taking the ferry out and back is a nice way to kill an hour.

Wow amazing speakeasy in the heart of Chinatown. Never thought I'd have kale cocktail. It tasted so good, I couldn't tell there was alcohol in the drink it was so tasty! The bartenders were all dressed to theme as if they were chemists in a chemist lab and the entrance to the bar says "chemistry". One of my favorite bars!

Great non-traditional Mexican restaurant tucked away in a basement in Chinatown. Brought to you by the owners of Apotheke and Theater Bar, the food here is very good -- loved the fish tacos, salsas especiales, and the tuna tostada; however, the atmosphere isn't quite as chic as their other venues. The restaurant is proud of its pulque (fermented agave beverage) ...

Can't leave NYC without trying a laudree macaroon. The macaroons are 5 stars, but I gave a 3 star rating because of the horrible slow and inattentive service. Purchase macaroons to go - it's a must! But don't eat in.

    Wall Street

0.68 mi from Conrad New York

Understand that I'm only reviewing the physical street and its historic significance, and not what it represents. The heart of capitalism and everything that's right and wrong with it, Wall Street is an iconic destination for any traveler. The architecture alone is worth the trip. Keen minds will note the awkward juxtaposition of seeing a church right at the end ...

Chinatown is one of NYC's great neighborhoods. Some streets are loaded with great restaurants, some kinda cheesy selling knockoffs, and some streets make you feel like you wandered into a side street in China. My favorite meal to come for here is Dim Sum(little pleasures) on the weekends. They roll around carts full of all different types of Dumplings and ...

Battery Park is a wonderful little park where you can see Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty (the actual statue and not the myriad of costumed buskers nearby). Bring the family and lots of sandwiches and stare out into the water.

As we all know, Wall Street recently proved itself as prone to stampeding as the Charging Bull. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they acquired one of the bull's more positive characteristics, sense of mind. The Charging Bull monument is an emotive statue of a beast located in Lower Manhattan. If you want to capture a great photo of the attraction, ...
