Copacabana Palace Hotel was the first major hotel constructed in 1923 along Copacabana Beach. When it first opened, the hotel welcomed famous celebrities such as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The hotel is definitely fancy with a bar and pool included.

Wow this hotel is really pretty cool. It's right on the beach and quite lavish, but it is quite expensive, so just make sure you book in advance to get good value for money.Recommended for:LGBT

I love it here! This historic and legendary hotel built in 1919 is one of my inspirations for joining the travel business. During my first trip to Rio, I learned about the Copacabana Palace as the most sought after hotel in town and was determined to stay there. About six months later I launched my new career as an Advisor with Brownell Travel and another six months later I stayed at the Palace for an unforgettable week.
The first thing my travel friend and I noticed about the Palace is their knack for hiring people who love hospitality, such as Cati at the front desk. Everyone we met had a smile on their face and seemed to truly enjoy their jobs, which resulted in an exuberant welcome. After sampling the welcome chocolate truffles, we were escorted to our stunning room in the main building. Not only was the room spacious, luxurious and impeccable but the balcony was drop dead gorgeous. Overlooking Copacabana Beach, I immediately dreamed about moving in…
And then we went to the pool, which I daresay is the best part of the hotel. Surrounded by two restaurants (one of which serves an extensive daily breakfast buffet), with comfortable chez lounges and impeccable service from wonderful people like Vinicuis, this has to be the best pool ever. The pool is in between the main building and the new wing, which houses additional rooms, the spa and Caprini bar and restaurant.
The hotel is famous for throwing some of the best parties in Rio, which is saying a lot. Both New Years Eve and Carnaval are celebrated with the utmost style, making them some of the most sought after tickets in town. There is also ample meeting space, which creates a mix of business and pleasure felt throughout the hotel.
While in Rio we also toured the Santa Teresa Hotel and Fasano, which has a great location in Ipanema. However, these other visits confirmed what I already believed to be true: the Copacabana Palace is the best place to stay in Rio. It combines historical style and modern luxury just perfectly. It is the standard for what service should be. When we finally got up from the pool and embraced our favorite waiters good bye, we knew it wouldn’t be long until we meet again.
Virtuoso amenities include upgrade on arrival, subject to availability, daily breakfast, $100 spa service and late check-out.

Michael Jackson, Walt Disney, Marilyn Munroe, Will Smith, Ronaldinho..... fancy rubbing shoulders with the celebs then Copacabana Palace is the place to go.
As soon as you walk up to this iconic and historic building which is now more than 80 years old you can tell that it is a place for those with a bit of extra money to enjoy excellent service in beautiful surroundings.
You can take your pick from utilising the tennis courts to taking a dip in the large swimming pool... or if its fine dining you are after the Copacabana Palace has various restaurants and bars available.
If you are only staying for a short period of time talk to the reception staff who will be happy to organise day tours to all of the main attractions such as the Christ statue, Sugar Loaf mountain, Maracana and more.

Very classy, very sophisticated hotel in the middle of Copacabana Beach. Tends to attract the wealthy tourists and dignitaries, but the hotel itself still retains the old Rio charm. Grab a drink and watch the sunset, or if you're very lucky, snag one of the pricey rooms for a memorable visit to the Cidade Maravillosa!!!

The Copacabana Palace is one of the most famous hotels in the World. It's utter luxury, amazing service, big rooms, a fabulous pool. And amazing tradition. This is where all the movie stars stay, where Nina Simone went skinny dipping when she was past 80. And the smaller rooms aren't going to cost significantly more than they would at other international chains.
