    La Bodeguita del medio

There is a large community of Cuban immigrants in Budapest and this place is the epicenter! Most nights you'll find a live cuban band playing until late, people dancing salsa, and dance troupes preforming. The bar serves up great cocktails. And the bartenders put on their own shows juggling shakers and literally breathing fire! In the same building but downstairs ...

The academy is a concert hall and conservatory. It's not a 'don't miss,' but it is a beautiful building, and you can go on a tour depending on what time of year it is and what is going on. The inside is incredible, and if you can see a concert here, I would highly recommend it. It's acoustically lovely. Sometimes ...

This is one of THE original 'ruin bars' (Kerts) in Budapest and it really is a MUST see when you visit. Great crowd almost any night and unique atmosphere which anyone will appreciate (young or old) at least for 1 drink. In the summer months it gets REALLY crowded but is large enough so never a line.

    Opera House

0.38 mi from Corinthia Hotel Budapest

The intimate, old setting was awesome. We got cheap tickets up in the balcony for Madame Butterfly and the acoustics and view were great. Beautiful time, lots of last minute student types showed up and sat in the aisles and steps around us. It was pure magic. Great acoustics, impressive history, opulent decor. Cheap drinks at intermission. Beautiful.

The Danube divides Budapest into Buda, Pest and Obudai, which all used to be separate cities. House of Terror

0.33 mi from Corinthia Hotel Budapest

Very impacting museum on the horrors inflicted during WWII and the communist regime on the Hungarian people. Cold, metal and stone building that really brought home just how recent and still hearfelt these atrocities are for the Hungarians. War criminal photos lined the walkway as you leave, people still being sought for torture and acts of terror.
