Most people come for the proximity to the Blarney Stone, but a city in its own right. Seat of radical politics. Nice vibe, but some of you may decide to give it a miss. Better than Waterford though.

Cork is a fantastic place. its smaller than Dubin so much easier to get around. Perfect mix of ancient and modern, cultural and cosmopolitan. Irish food is fantastic and Cork is the best spot to try Irish. The English food market, St Finbarrs Cathedral, Shandon Bells and the museums around Paul Street are fantastic. Cork has a rich history and a great night life, perfect for every type of weekend away. its also a great base for exploring other Cork attractions like the Blarney Stone. Flights to and from Cork Airport to many other European cities.

I visited Elder Robert Ellis in Ireland. He is a Baptist Missionary there out from our church in Tacoma, Washington. Enjoyed meeting the people, preaching, kissing the Blarney Stone, and seeing the sights like the Waterford Crystal Factory etc.
