The corniche in Abu Dhabi is a green swathe of public space next to a white strip of sand and a surprisingly blue Persian Gulf. The bike paths and walkways meander through rolling, grassy knolls where predominantly Arab families hang out, barbeque and smoke sheesha with the wife, kids and extended family. Other amenities such as a skatepark, basketball courts and playgrounds ensure that everyone is entertained even little Abdullah Jr.Recommended for:
The whole Emirates is so car-dependent, it's nice just to see an area where people are out walking! It also gives Abu Dhabi a much-needed feeling of city center--even if it's not quite accurate. As you're strolling along here in the evening, alongside the huge mix of Abu Dhabi residents, you do at least feel like you're in the middle of things. It's a really nice place to let kids run around, and there's a dedicated playground part of the way along. Never mind that, of course, everyone _drives_ to the corniche...so it's kind of traffic mayhem along the road next to you. The water is refreshing and the vibe is friendly.Recommended for:

The Corniche goes along most of the marina water front. There's a very wide pedestrian walkway and a dedicated and separate cycling path. The views are astounding at sunset. I came to Abu Dhabi specifically to run on the Corniche (and ended up running 14 miles that night).
There aren't many services along most of the Corniche, and drinks, including water, are available from vending machines (so bring your own). In the middle, where the Family Beach is, there are several restaurants and services.
At twilight, the feral and stray cats come out. They are mostly friendly and no one bothers them. Indeed, the locals take care of them.Recommended for:
Running along the coast of downtown Abu Dhabi, The Corniche is not only a scenic drive, but is also lined with promenades, shops and beaches. Making a few stops along the way to browse and maybe even lounge on the beach is definitely worth it.
I had been lived there... Corniche is nice Place.,, nice garden with beautiful flowers and beautiful beach... loved to went to beach to saw the sunset and swam in the evening, especially in summer because the water so warm... miss that place so much :)
