Billing itself as the Quarter's only microbrewery, Crescent City Brewhouse is right in the thick of things -- a block from the river and a block from Jackson Square -- and tidily earns its keep as a top-notch place to swill craft brews in New Orleans. Located in a very cool heritage building, the food menu features ultra-fresh seafood and hearty pub-grub done up gourmand-style, though I've always come here mostly for the beers: an unfiltered weissbier goes down perfect after a hot day wandering the Quarter.Recommended for:Foodies

Ate here the night before the Rock n Roll Marathon, and it was fantastic. I had the New York Strip with asparagus and my fiancee had the Crab Meat Stuffed Shrimp. Yum-o. The steak was seasoned perfectly and melted in my mouth. The shrimp are huge, and had a healthy stuffing full of the crab meat mixture. Although I didn't drink, my fiancee had one of their beers and raved about it. We'll be back for sure!

With all the charm of Decatur, skip Bubba Gump next door and get some real Southern food here. Order the roast duck and top it off with one of their in-house brews. The second floor balcony is a fab place to watch the river from.
