Cristalli di Zucchero is a great cafe and sweets shop. They offer a huge variety of very pretty and very tasty goods. Like most bars in Rome, they offer fresh coffee and juices. This is a must-visit if you're in the Circo Massimo / Bocca della Verita' area.

I cannot stress enough how much this place is pure, sweet heavenly heaven. Every single thing offered here, from the most simple cookie to the divine thick hot chocolate to the many cakes on offer is simply going to knock you over with how good it is. They are artists of dessert. This is my guilty pleasure when I'm in Rome - except I feel too good to feel too guilty when eating it. Yum! (Any of the locations throughout the city will satisfy.)

Adjacent to a farmers’ market just off the Circus Maximus is a pretty-in-pink pasticceria where Parisian-style tartlets are made with regional ingredients like apricots and pistachios. Order the flaky ricotta-and-chocolate-filled Romanella at the counter with an espresso—then get another one to go.

Description

An upscale Parisian-style pasticceria tucked away at the western end of Circus Maximus (at Via di San Teodoro). Their sweet specialties include individual or mini cakes and tarts -- from stromboli to mille-feuille, a puff pastry layered with Chantilly cream -- and delicious fruity gelatos. You'll also find coffee, tea and a selection of savory options, including sandwiches and pizzas.
