Really enjoyed it. Very different feel than any other place I'd been to. However, we were there for four days and it was one day too long. The city is quite small and it only makes sense to stay longer if you plan on doing loads of day trips. Still, lovely city with very friendly people.

Some of the key reasons I travel are: a) meeting people from around the world, b) history, c) food, d) natural beauty, e) large bodies of water and f) great urban planning. I pretty much just described the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia. The ferry ride from the Istrian peninsula through the Adriatic islands (Hvar, Vis) and on down to Split ...

Lived in Split for 5 months, had a great time! The people are really friendly and the city center was really happening! The only problem I had was that during the winter it rained a lot... I would suggest visiting in the summer- plus then you can enjoy the beaches!

We spent three days in Premestin just northwest of Split along the coast. It is one of the prettiest towns that we have ever seen. The older part of the town is on an island connected via causeway. There are lots of homes?apartments that you can rent. Joe

Less well-known than other Dalmatian-coast cities like Split and Dubrovnik, Zadar has all the requisite charms – marble streets, Roman ruins, Baroque churches, cafés housed in ancient cloisters – but also has its own quirky appeal. Along the seaside promenade, be sure to seek out the Sun Salutation and Sea Organ. For dinner, forgo the fancy places along the waterfront ...

The 16 lakes at Plitvice is amazing. Make sure you walk up to the viewpoint from Veliki Slap to see the postcard view.

If you want to get off the beaten track in Croatia, this is a great option. Less touristy than its neighbor Krk, Cres and Losinj are beautiful and relaxing.

Tiny walled town that resonates with medieval charm and lively restaurants along an oceanfront promenade. Several beaches in town and nearby to dip in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.

We mainly went to this city for a home hosted visit on our river cruise. These visits are some of our best memories of the tour as you get to interact with the people of the country. We went to a small farm and had lunch. Even though they spoke very little English ( and we spoke no Croatian) we ...
