The Crowne Plaza is nicely located a few minutes just south of SFO along the 101 freeway. The hotel rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The staff is also friendly and helpful. There is ample parking for guests of the hotel and the lot is also gated. If you are looking to explore in the immediate area, there is a park and bay trail that is a nice 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. If you are looking to shop or eat, you will need to go towards the west side of the freeway towards downtown Burlingame.

This Crown Plaza keeps changing hands and brands.
It used to be a Sheraton a long time ago. Then it became a Radisson. That is about the time the Crown Plaza was over down by Embassy Suites, but is now a Hilton. So the names and brands have shuffled in this area.
This is a decent business hotel, near the airport, close to Burlingame shops and restaurants across the freeway. It is cheaper than staying in SF, but only if your business is more on the peninsula.
The restaurant bar, is typical, has a decent range of selections, about average to small in size. The rooms are typical desk, bed TV, chair type hotel rooms. The ground floor layout is a little confusing, with the lobby up front, but the elevators somewhere amongst a catacomb of hallways farther back.
Room rates are typically about $115 - $135, depending on room, season, and stay.
This is exclusive of taxes and fees. Parking is extra. There is a free airport shuttle though.
They do have about 14,000 sq ft of meeting space. But it isn't that popular as a banquet destination.
Getting to it is also confusing, because the Broadway exit interchange here in Burlingame isn't typical, and it is not intuitive.

I stayed here for one night once out of necessity. I appreciated the service and the restaurant downstairs, but couldn't help but cringe at the price and the location. It's not really near enough to the airport (~1.5 miles south) to be totally convenient, and the only view is of the landfill/freeway. The bed was nice a firm and I had a pleasant stay but I'm not sure if I'd stay here again.

I came down here a few years ago to attend a mandatory regulations-driven training class I really didn't want to take. Some of us know how that goes. It's a long drive down the Peninsula (and back) from Albany, but it beats getting on a plane for an overnight adventure at this point. This is especially so, considering my almost full-time Dad responsibilities and the fact that I couldn't find a class in the required time frame in some nice city like Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, or even Albuquerque. And I got back in time to hear the entire Joe Biden - Sarah Palin debate from the comfort of my own home.
The Crowne Plaza SFO is what you would expect at a mid-level airport hotel: functional, reasonably comfortable, and maybe relatively economical. It's an older hotel building that looks recently refurbished, yet still a little cramped and tired (at least in some of the common areas). There were lots of meeting people like me, business types, and various airline crews around in an atmosphere of temporary respite. There were also a few interesting and unexpected touches like the youth athletic fields right out the door and a neat old fashioned barber shop.
The class was well done and worth the trouble. The meeting room, refreshments and lunch were all OK and pretty standard for the "rubber chicken circuit". And after several years of business travel, I really want something better and usually get it when I have more of a choice.
