Quite a nice town. Small and quiet with very nice buildings and streets. The people are so friendly, never bothered me at all when I walked the streets alone.

Part of the province of Villa Clara, Remedios is most famously known as the Cradle of the Parrandas, the street celebrations which have occurred every December since the eighteenth century. Take a bici taxi ride to the warehouse where parade floats are made and stored for the next festivity, to take place around Christmas time.

Perhaps Cuba's most off the grid town, Caibarién, known as Villa Blanca for its white sand beaches, used to once be a thriving fishing port. That has long been forgotten and a sweet isolation ensued. There's not a lot to do here but there is certainly a whole lot of charm to take in. You can visit an old printing ...

It is really hard to like a labor camp that you had to spend 45 days when you were a kid. Working the tobacco fields from 6am to 6pm was not fun at all. Eating soups with worms and sleeping in a piece of wood are the only memories I have of this place. Not sure about the town since ...
