the only hotel on a small island reachable by ferry offers modest rooms on a spectacular white sand beach and plentiful (but mediocre) food in the one restaurant that services the hotel guests. come for the quiet white beach and the snorkeling trips; don't come for a great hotel experience.

Great location right in the center of Havana Vieja. Lisette is loud and knows a lot of people. She can help recommend people and places, but also often can seema bit pushy too.

40 years ago when there were less than a 1000 tourists on the whole island, this was a great beach

Walking distance from the plaza, but the real selling point is delicious food, and enormous portions. Osviel welcomes visitors with a hand-rolled cigar, and is very friendly. The rooms are a bit hot though, as the air conditioning doe snot work very well.

You can buy a day pass here to get out of the sticky heat and into the pool. They have a bar there, and it is a nice sunset spot overlooking the valley.

I have to concur with the two previous reviewers. I spent two nights at the Hostal Jose Ramon in February. The apartment is bug infested and filthy. Due to the bug bites, as a result, I had to undergo a medical treatment upon my return home. I am on antibiotics due to an infection caused by bug bites. I had ...
