This hidden gem in the Lower East Side is not what you would expect once you go in. A narrow bar serving beer and wine, turns into an art space towards the back, where modern art is on display, bands get together to perform and artists turn on their creativity.

Culturefix is a lively artistic bar hidden in one of Manhattan's many nooks on the side streets. People have the option to hang out at the bar or plan an artistic event. Gogobot NYC hosted a fun holiday party here which I attended and enjoyed. The space was perfect for this event. The interior surroundings contributed to the Wanderlust party theme well. Everything seemed to have its place: great DJ, excellent visual arts, good brews, and a cool crowd of people.

Cool neighborhood basement bar. Hidden enough to make you feel like you've discovered something but friendly enough that you feel welcome. Has a good selection of beers and the tacos are excellent.
The front of the bar is small but it sometimes opens up to a nice little gallery / small event space in the back. A fun event venue.

I visited CultureFix -- a bar and art gallery in the LES -- during a GogoBot Wanderlust Holiday Affair featuring visual artist Oliver Warden with an interactive display, and IN THE CUT/ Mar Mar and Effie Asili spinning vinyl and screening 16 millimeter projections. CultureFix was a great venue with art, music, performance and good (spicy, hot) food and beer. Check it out!

Really like the food (family meal on Friday) and vibe at this bar/art gallery/store. While the back room/gallery is not the easiest place to have a conversation when a DJ's spinning, it has a nice flow that keeps people from feeling like they're packed in.

There is no shortage of watering holes to secure your liquid fix in New York City, but Culturefix lives up to its name by providing some interesting conversation pieces while you imbibe. Situated close to the Williamsburg bridge, a few sunken steps will lead you into this grotto like bar. The layout is decidedly mullet-like. The regular business of drink pouring happens in the front, and the wilder artistic expressions occur in the back. The space has a loungy, laid back feel, with "small", "secluded" and "warm" being the key words. The gallery section features recession era art sales, film projections, modern art exhibitions and enough dance room to perform "The Worm". Trust me on that last point.

A creative hub with a lot of intelligence and passion invested in curating the bar/ gallery/ recession store and supper club. Gogobot NYC is looking forward to hosting our Holiday party at the venue as well as creating an ongoing Explorer's Club for Gogobot visionaries, storytellers and travel enthusiasts.
