Culver city is definitely a diamond in the rough. There's not much to do except what downtown culver has to offer. They have 2 hour free parking the garages which is awesome to take advantage of.

Culver City is a gem of a city. Fantastic restaurants are everywhere, especially in Downtown Culver. Lots of parks. Very dog friendly city. Not too far from the venice beach!

Born in Santa Monica in 1954 and lived here until I was 20 years old and could not imagine a better place to grow up. Very small, friendly town where all the store people knew you by name and no one ever was a stranger. Don't know if it still has that quality now, but was the best place for me to live.

I lived here while I was in graduate school and the city is partly why I am Westside biased (that and I can handle only so many places overrun by hipsters). The city feels like a community and they smartly renovated downtown with walkable, mom and pop stores instead of corporate chains (I'm look at you DTLA/ LA Live). There isn't a "scene" here, which is also why I love it. I don't have to hear about people working on screenplays all the time.

Culver City has experienced a renaissance of sorts in recent years. Historically a center of production for film and television, it has now become/is becoming a cultural center full of galleries, adventurous restaurants and young people. A visit to the center square on Culver Blvd. (between Cardiff and Bagley) is a must if you'd like to see how real Angelinos spent weekend nights.
