I love this little shop. They have adorable things that are fun and colorful. It's like an Asian dollar store, with everything from kitchenware to accessories to stationery. Great place to get some cheap items to use at home.

Ok I will be honest. When I first saw and went in Daiso I was anything but impressed. Then I started to cruise around the joint and realized what really was happening here. I left with a bag full of goods for $10 and I couldnt have been more happy and wanting to return soon again.
This place is conveniently located in Atlantic Square just off of the 10 freeway! It couldnt be more convenient unless it was just off of another freeway haha
Pro Tip: Everything in the store is $1.50 unless otherwise marked. The most expensive things I saw were listed at $4.00!
Parking is a piece of cake here as underneath Atlantic Square is a multi story parking garage. They have escalators and elevators within easy access to the entire subterranean structure.
Overall if you want some kinda kewl cheap JDM imports for kitchen chit or totally random unexpected stuff, this is a great place to find it =)

Daiso is the 99 cents store of Japan. They have over 2500 locations in Japan and another 500 overseas. The last couple of years it started tot expand to the U.S. 40% of their items are made in China with most of their items being an in house brand.
+ You find items here that you will most likely not find anywhere else.
+ Some item likes a $4 Fedora is hard to beat in any store.
+ Majority of their items are actually useful in some aspect.
+ The first Daiso opened in San Gabriel Valley.
+ Some shoppers would like pink signs everywhere in the store, but they definitely add their own style.
- The store felt more like a liquid store pack with 99 cents store customer volume.
- Their return policy is like those found in Chinatown (NO RETURN OR EXCHANGE)
* Unlike typical 99 cents stores they do not carry fruit or vegetables here.
* Avoid weekends when it's the most crowded to least avoid awful parking in the plaza.
* Minimum of $10 required for all Credit Card Purchases (Visa and MasterCard Only) !
My 2 Cent
* Everything from the store you can get elsewhere, but expect to pay a higher price. You will not find Manga here, but it has really just a cuter and more upscale feeling than a 99 cents store with Japanese text despite it still being made in China.

Walked out with $50 worth of goodies! damn I wanted to buy the whole store!
When I got home with all my goodies it looked like I just came back from a trip to Taiwan. Daiso has everything from utensils, cosmetics, stationary, snacks, to pet supplies! Pretty much everything I bought was $1.50 except for this ceramic pot that was $2.50 (if it is more than $1.50 they will label the item with a sticker). I felt most of the products was well worth the price tag although there were also some items that were made with cheaper quality. There are no returns so make sure you absolutely love what you are getting! $1.50 is cheap but it can pile up fast if you are grabbing everything you want in the store.
*Tip The store is located in the Atlantic Plaza in Monterey Park. It isn't visible from the street so turn on Hellman and park in the underground parking lot. Then go up the escalator from the parking garage and the store is to the left.

I am so in love with this store. I couldn't be happier that Daiso opened a store in Monterey Park because I wouldn't want to drive all the way to Gardena. The new Daiso is located inside the Atlantic Time Square. There's free parking underground.
Almost everything in the store is $1.50. It's like the Japanese equivalent to the American dollar store or I guess the 100 yen store with the exchange rates the way they are.
I just bought a USB mouse, a headphone, laundry mesh, dog collar, and a ton of tupperware for $1.50 each! They have so many items in the store. It's a great place to get kitchen, cleaning, and beauty products. I saw they have false lashes for $1.50 a pair. I usually pay $4-$6 for the same thing elsewhere. I will definitely be coming back for that.
You have to pay cash for purchases less than $10. They don't take AMEX or Discover and all purchases are final.
