    The Bishop Arts District

    5 reviews

This area of Dallas used to be termed the ‘bad neighborhood.’ But don’t believe that anymore. You absolutely must take a look at this thriving artsy district of Dallas. It must be noted that this is one of the most walkable areas of Dallas, so get ready to window shop and stroll. I found Japanese restaurants, Spanish bookstores/wine cafes, bicycle ...

    Truck Yard

    5624 Sears Street, Dallas, Texas
    2 reviews

I passed this restaurant/bar a dozen times before I thought to go in; the front of this place is quite deceiving. Don’t make the same mistake I did; go in! When you enter into the back area of the small shack-like restaurant, you see that there is enough space in the ‘backyard’ to comfortably, and sometimes uncomfortably, fit hundreds of ...

    Deep Ellum

Deep Ellum, Dallas, TX 75226, USA
    19 reviews

I have only driven through here and it looks quite cool. Maybe a bit trashy looking. I imagine many artsy-hipsters are into this neighborhood. I really don't know. I guess I need to give it a try one of these days. Cool art around. Filled with a unique character.

    Voodoo Chile

    5643 Bell Ave.
    2 reviews

If you're interested in something truly and genuinely unique, then you absolutely must visit this place. It's something like a gift shop, a museum, an art gallery, a time capsule, and a head shop all rolled into one little joint. Owned (operated? curated? birthed?) by a legitimately groovy Japanese guy named Jimi, it is basically a small house that has ...

    Winspear Opera House

    2403 Flora Street, Dallas, TX

Located deep in the heart of the arts district in downtown, this opera house is as grand as they come. Drinks are served at every level and the staff is helpful. Given the gravitas of the place, they are able to pull in world-class acts you won't see anywhere else.

    Libertine Bar

2101 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX, United States
    3 reviews

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that their drink selection is exquisite, from artfully-mixed cocktails to a wide selection of local and imported beers. The food menu is pricey but affordable, especially once you taste it. They have shared plates that are great for dates, and they also have some incredible deals on certain days of the week. ...

This mall has a lot of high-end shopping, and has really changed since I started coming here as a young child with my mother. Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Prada, etc. You get the idea.

    Galleria Dallas

13350 Dallas Parkway, Dallas, TX 75240
    42 reviews

This is one big mall. Galleria Dallas offers everything from an ice skating rink to stores as uncommon in most places as Zara. The food court offers all types of food, my favorite being the French bistro at the bottom. It's also connected to several hotels and a parking garage so large it sent chills down my spine.

    The Sixth Floor Museum

411 Elm Street, Dallas, Texas 75202, United States
    27 reviews

Despite the city’s breakneck forward motion, one thing Dallas can probably never leave behind is the legacy of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. History buffs head to the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, formerly the Texas School Book Depository, where Lee Harvey Oswald is presumed to have fired the fatal shots. The area where Oswald allegedly stood ...

    Dallas World Aquarium

1801 North Griffin Street, Dallas, TX
    28 reviews

It's easily overpriced for the time you spend there (expect to lose a cool $100 for a family of four), but it's a great little place with a chance to walk underneath sharks in one of those glass tunnels, see a manatee, and observe a very bored, very neurotic, tiger in a way too small enclosure.

It's not one of those world class zoos, even though the recently opened big mammal area is definitely worth a looking at. Good to spend a weekend afternoon, not something to write home about.

The Arboretum will dazzle you with flowers, scents, and beauty. Take your camera and enjoy. My favorite time of year is in the fall when they have the pumpkin displays. On Thursday evenings in the summer they have outdoor concerts where you can bring your own picnic meal & wine or beer. It's a great place for everyone to enjoy. ...
